Announced at Winter NAMM 2020, the new GigBar Move is the latest addition to CHAUVET DJ's GigBAR family of portable, easy-to-use lighting rigs. Building on previous models, GigBAR Move offers even more exciting lighting effects to elevate your next show.
What Makes GigBAR Move Different
The new GigBAR Move features five different lighting features. Carrying over from previous models, this lighting bar features a center laser, strobe effects, derbies and LED washes. The UV LEDs illuminate the dance floor further by making fluorescent objects pop. Each effect has varying coverage angles and throw distances that make the entire room light up.
New to the GigBAR family are the two moving heads. Both moving heads have a 360° flip with 720° rotation. With built-in Totem mode, the heads stay focused on the dance floor. They also have separate color and gobo wheels for extra customization. In fact, every lighting feature on the GigBAR Move can be individualized for a show that works perfectly with any set.
Setting up GigBAR Move for your Gig
Setting up the GigBAR Move is fast and easy. Since all lighting effects are pre-mounted to the bar, very little extra work is required to get it up and running. Simply attach the lighting bar to the included tripod base, connect the wireless footswitch, plug it in and start playing. Since it’s so easy to put together and take apart, the GigBAR Move is ideal for events like weddings or corporate parties that require same-day set up and removal. With the included gig bag, transporting the GigBAR Move and its included accessories is a breeze.
While it’s great to have the lighting bar right next to the dance floor, it can be set back as far as 50 feet and still offer a ton of coverage. It’s well-suited for both small and large venues. The GigBAR Move can also link up with other GigBAR Move units for an even bigger, coordinated light show. It will also connect with the GigBAR 2 in master/slave mode for performers who already own that bar or want a combination of lighting effects for a dynamic show. You can also use DMX to connect it in line with other CHAUVET DJ gear.
Stand-alone Mode and DMX Control
When it comes to operating, there’s plenty of options for a performer to personalize how they use GigBAR Move. The majority of performers will prefer using stand-alone mode, which can be either automated or sound-activated. In stand-alone mode, performers have the option of connecting the wireless footswitch to their GigBAR Move for hands-free operation. Also optional is the included IRC-6 remote, which offers another wireless option. When using multiple GigBAR Moves together, it’s also possible to control them with a single remote or footswitch using a DMX cable to connect the units. Speaking of DMX, the GigBAR Move also offers DMX control for performers looking for further personalization over their set.
