collapse expand iconDescription

The Fender American Vintage II 1966 Jazzmaster electric guitar celebrates the iconic offset design and sound of the mid-1960s. Its alder body and maple neck provide a resonant yet articulate foundation for the Pure Vintage '66 Single-coil Jazzmaster pickups to deliver the distinctive chime and quack that defined a generation. Available at Guitar Center, this meticulously crafted instrument features a comfortable mid-'60s C-shaped neck profile with a round-lam rosewood fingerboard and vintage-tall frets for a fast, familiar feel. The Jazzmaster bridge with threaded saddles and floating tremolo system provide expressive string bending and warbling effects.

Pure Vintage '66 Pickups for Quintessential Jazzmaster Tone

The Pure Vintage '66 Single-coil Jazzmaster pickups are specially voiced to capture the bright, jangly tones of the mid-1960s. In conjunction with the alder body and maple neck, these pickups produce harmonically rich overtones with chimey highs and a throaty midrange. The slide switch and thumbwheel controls provide tonal versatility, from rhythm to lead settings.

'60s-Inspired Neck Profile and Fretboard

The American Vintage II 1966 Jazzmaster features a comfortable C-shaped neck profile with a round-lam rosewood fingerboard—as was standard for the era. The 7.25" fingerboard radius and 21 vintage-tall frets make chordal playing a breeze while providing silky bends and vibrato. The neck's mid-'60s profile is highly resistant to twisting and warping thanks to its maple construction.

Vintage-Accurate Bridge and Tremolo System

This Jazzmaster comes equipped with an adjustable bridge and floating tremolo system designed to deliver expressive string bending and warbling effects. The tremolo arm can be adjusted to create subtle pitch variations or more dramatic warbles. The bridge and saddles are threaded for precise intonation adjustments.

Premium Appointments and Included Case

As with the original 1960s Jazzmasters, this American Vintage II model features white neck binding, pearloid block inlays, and Fender Deluxe tuners. It comes in your choice of Sherwood Green Metallic, 3-Color Sunburst, Dakota Red or Lake Placid Blue finishes, and includes a vintage-style black case with an orange interior for premium protection. Put down that heavy muddy Les Paul... if you are a Strat/Tele guy like me, and want something a little different, maybe something that adds warmth and thickness, but still bites like a Fender with a flip of a switch and quick knob adjustment. Plus, it's one of the coolest looking, most beautiful pieces of art on stage! Especially with that matching headstock! Also, You know that the value of this thing is going to skyrocket once Fender discontinues this model. So, go ahead and get a couple of these Jazzmasters... one in each color! Just do it. You will be glad you did!
