I just bought this last Saturday (10-10-20) and used it in rehearsal the following day. It worked great. Basically just plug and play. I could not detect any difference in my sound. The transmitter/receiver lasted for the entire 3.5 hour rehearsal. Some cons: 1 - The strap clip is not great. I tried to use it and the transmitter kept popping out of the clip. 2 - You will have to supply your own wall plug for the charging cable. I recommend getting a dual port because... 2 - You only get one charging cable. For two devices. Why would they do this? I am assuming that both units will discharge at the same rate and therefore will need to be recharged at the some time. I will have to buy an additional USB-C charging cable and the aforementioned dual-USB wall plug.

My band has several of these and they hold up well for live performances and rehearsals. We play for 3-4 hours once or twice a month. We turn off the devices between sets and they last the entire night. If for some reason we use them without a full charge, we charge them between sets. I run a L and R out of my drum module and another Mono from my sample pad to the mixer with great success. One time at home, I connected my bass drum epad to the module and ran cables to the amp. The bass drum sounded as if it were fully connected by instrument cables! I'd love to have a fully wireless edrum kit, but it is prohibitively expensive.

Previously had a Sennheiser EW-100 kit, but didn't want to deal with the extra gear & cables. The XSW might not be at pro level, but it works for what I do. Some have complained battery life is short, but I haven't had that issue (yet). Agree with others that a second charging cable would be a plus. Couldn't find on stateside, so had to order from a dude in London. (No complaint as it was half the price, event with postage).

  • I would buy this product again

Perfect for the way I play guitar - sitting, no strap, but still has the option to use a strap with the extension cable and belt clip. Simple plug and play operation.

How good is this with acoustic guitar? Mainly concerned about tone issues. Does it compromise or change the tone signal in any way?

It's fine. No one can "hear" the difference between wireless and wired.

The Sennheiser XSWD for guitar comes with a USB cable but no base charger. Can you use the wall charger plug with this cable to charge the units?
