Saturday Night Live guitarist Jared Scharff takes us through six setups he put together
from favorite gear found throughout the store.
SNL Rig
"Some nights it's more distortion and rock focused … I don't really know until I show up on that Saturday, but I really love switching out guitars each week because each guitar makes me play a little bit differently in the style and the sound." Pearl Lion
Light Rig
"Sometimes a clean tone on an amp is a beautiful thing, but … sometimes it's a bit stale, so that’s why I like things to have … reverb or delays, or maybe some weirder sounds … tones similar to my upcoming Pearl Lion Light EP." Watch & Learnopen a new tab for guitar a thon featured video
Pearl Lion
Dark Rig
"Tones similar to my Pearl Lion Dark EP … super angry, edgy, evil … kind of going for more synthy tones, fuzz sounds, sometimes some gnarly drive and gain kind of things. More pitch shifting … more experimental pedals … it's rock and it's trying to do more interesting things with the actual guitar." Watch & Learnopen a new tab for guitar a thon featured video
MSG Rig
"I use an amp profiler or an amp-in-a-box type situation when I'm at the arena because there's no room for an amp in our booth and it needs to go straight to the house. So this is something that one could bring and just have it lying on a desk or lying on the ground. You have all the tones that you'll ever need." Bedroom
Rig
"I definitely think there's value in playing music by yourself at home in a comfortable environment where you're not really worried about what music you're making. You're just exploring music and feeling the music and, ideally, just having an emotional experience where you're just feeling music." Watch & Learnopen a new tab for guitar a thon featured video
Get Out
&Gig Rig
"The get out and gig rig is basic, it's simple—just your good clean amp that takes a distortion pedal well … it's important to bring two guitars to a gig. No one wants to wait for you to change a string." Watch & Learnopen a new tab for guitar a thon featured video
