Class C amp significantly reduced my gear weight compared to class A/B amps for PA system. However, as described in Owner's Manual, speaker connections are designed for European versions (I'm in the USA) to prevent a Euro-style power plug from being inadvertently inserted instead of a banana-style speaker plug. This has to be drilled out to allow banana plug to be inserted into the ENDS of the speaker outputs.

I bought a set of r820f's and i was very disappointed. I figured id throw more power at them based on the specs and what my avr was putting out. Holy cow man. There is no reason a amp at this price should be this good and this power. Everything's better. Tone, clarity, its not bright at all, and to me it's a perfect fit. The only thing emotiva has over this unit is appearance. If you're an absolute audiophile, this amp might not be the best you ever heard.. but it works REALLY good for the money. I'm going to buy 2 more for my subs and surrounds!

My Mackie 1400 died on me and I got this to replace it. I'm running a drum machine through a mixer and 2 15inch Yamaha speakers. Sometimes I'll have vocals running through. It's very light and the chassis is like a home stereo shell. That worries me. The Mackie was built like a tank and weighed as much. The spring power button feels cheap. As far as sound goes, it blows the Mackie away. Like the other review I read here said, it brought his speakers to life, it also brought mine to life. My Mackie sounded really stale and took a lot of tweaking and EQing. This sounded good right off the bat. It makes me want to run my home stereo through it, which I hear people have been doing. I would like another to run subs. I play rock, metal and need the drum machine to get loud enough to mimic a live practice and this Crown gets me there a s a very pleasant way. The 2500 would have given me more headroom but this 1500 does a great job. We'll see how long it lasts.
