Great Low Cost Monitoring Solution

I read all the review before buying these. Most were good with a few outlying bad reviews so I took a chance and ordered 4 transmitters and 4 receivers. "What do you think of them" you may ask. I love them. I LOVE THEM! The sound quality is excellent. And they have an excellent build quality - metal casings and a really good, strong belt clip. For the price, I don't see how you could go wrong. Issues?: The only issues I've had - (and these could have been bad at a gig, but fortunately I gave them a thorough test in my practice room) if the transmitters are too close to each other (practically touching) they interfere with each other. But this is not exclusive to the Xvives, this can happen with any 2.4G wireless device. Also, if the transmitters are too close to the antenna of my SoundCraft UI24R, they will cause wifi dropouts to my iPad. Again, this is not something that's exclusive to the Xvives, ANY wifi antennas can and will interfere with each other if they are too close to one another. Plus, anyone who owns a SoundCraft UI24R knows the onboard wifi isn't the best anyway. It's ALWAYS better to use an external 5G wireless router. I only bring these two issues up because most of the complaints I see about this product are regarding wifi and dropouts. As far as the system as a whole, I couldn't be happier. and it's easy enough to "work-around" the interference with the mixer. Either; 1) run and external wireless router at 5G and turn off 2.4G, 2) or maintain about a foot separation between the Xvive transmitters and your wireless router. The Xvives are super easy to configure, have a volume knob so you don't have to bug the sound man if you just need to turn up or down a bit. And the batteries last a long time. We have had two practices that went over 5 hours and the Xvives kept working. If you need a lower cost in-ear monitoring solution, give them a try!

Excellent quality, great potential - but...

I really had high hopes for this product based on all the positive reviews. Ease of use is excellent, as is portability. Works great at home and super quality. Unfortunately, as was my experience with the Xvive u2, the frequency spectrum makes this product unusable for me at a real gig. When faced with multiple musicians on stage, moving around, and everyone using IEMs with Wi-Fi routers, etc., there is too much interference causing dropouts, and the need to constantly changes channels. Having dropouts and needing to change channels is not ideal during a performance. These work best with line of sight and no obstacles, and no other transmitters nearby. Perfect for home use. Unfortunately, had to return as I did the U2.

As a rookie to in-ears, it took a while to get used to, but they were great. clean sound, plenty of volume, and I appreciate the adapter that allows conversion from XLR to TRS. I have actually used these to send audio from PA systems in my streaming business too. Range is average for that.

  • Fantastic IEM system makes good perfomances great.

The Xvive U4 offers inexpensive, great quality access to the world of In Ear Monitoring. Playing venues of varying size and quality is often a gamble regarding monitors. With the U4, i get only what I need in my ears. Our 3 part harmonies went from pretty good to great instantly, and I can hear my solos without being forced to stand in one spot. On larger stages, I leave one ear in so I can still get the ambiance AND the crucial elements of my monitor mix without feeling "cut off". On smaller stages, I'm no longer deafened by cymbals shredding my ear drums. Highly recommend. Our whole band has them now. #sweepstakes

6 people in my band use these for in ear monitors with most of us having our own mixes. The battery lasts a good while and the range works well for us. #sweepstakes

It works well. The negatives are that if you use a mixer with a 2.4 gHz wifi signal there might be some interference and I did have to change my channel once due to it being close to another band member's wireless channel, but overall it works well. So far the battery seems to last a long time, but it would be nice if the rechargeable batteries could be replaced.

  • Don't think twice. Buy this.

I always held back from buying an iem system due to price. Then this thing shows up. It is so easy and excellent to use. I've never been happier with a purchase for my sound rig. You'll be glad you purchased these.

I have a Fishman Loudbox Mini amp where I can plug both my guitar and mic into. Will this work if I plug it into the D.I. Output in the back of the unit?

No. The DI is an Output. The 1/4" input is for a guitar. (Instrument) The XLR input is for a mic. (Mic)
