Roland VT-4 Voice Transformer Overview

Roland VT-4 Voice Transformer Performance

Description
The Roland VT-4 Voice Transformer is a groundbreaking vocal effects processor and looper designed for live performance and studio use. Combining high-quality vocal effects with real-time harmony generation and phrase looping, the VT-4 opens up exciting new creative possibilities for singers, beatboxers and vocalists. The VT-4 features Roland's advanced harmony engine which can generate up to four harmonies from a single vocal input. Harmonies can be controlled using the dedicated Harmony and Vocoder section, allowing users to easily craft lush vocal harmonies in real time. The VT-4 also includes powerful looping and multi-effects processing for manipulating vocals in new and musical ways.
Generate up to Four-Part Harmonies in Real Time
The VT-4 features Roland's innovative harmony generation technology which can produce up to four independent harmonies from a single vocal input. Users can select from 25 different harmony presets or build custom harmonies using the dedicated Harmony button and four harmony sliders. The Vocoder slider adjusts the tone and character of the harmonies, allowing users to create classic vocoder-style sounds or more natural vocal harmonies. Harmonies can be generated in real time based on the input pitch or by specifying an absolute key and scale. This gives vocalists and beatboxers a powerful tool for enhancing their live performances with lush, multi-part vocal harmonies.
Loop and Manipulate Vocals With Powerful Onboard Effects
In addition to harmony generation, the VT-4 includes high-quality vocal effects and phrase looping for manipulating vocals in real time. The VT-4 offers over 50 vocal effects like reverb, delay, distortion, pitch correction and more which can be used independently or in combination. Users can store up to four favorite multi-effects chains for instant recall. The VT-4 also features 24-bit phrase looping, allowing vocalists to record and overdub vocal phrases on the fly. Loops can be synced to an external MIDI clock for seamless integration with beatmaking gear.
Streamlined Interface Optimized for Live Use
Despite its advanced functionality, the VT-4 features a streamlined interface optimized for live performance with intuitive sliders, buttons, and real-time control options. The large input meter and dedicated level control ensure proper gain staging for the best signal quality. The harmony section provides hands-on control of up to four independent harmonies using sliders and preset buttons. Additional sliders provide control over key vocal effects parameters. A backlit LCD screen provides visual feedback on selected presets, effects and more. The VT-4 also includes XLR mic/line inputs, phantom power and balanced XLR stereo outputs.
