The Mars Series Shell Pack offers 100% birch, 6-ply and 7.2mm shells with shallow depths complete with the SONIClear bearing edge, producing a fast and clear tone with a quick stick rebound. The SONIClear bearing edge allows for the direct transmission of sound, reduces unwanted frequencies and provides a strong fundamental pitch and an effortless tuning experience especially at lower tunings.

The SONIClear tom suspension and floor tom feet (simiar to the Saturn IV system) increase overall resonance by preserving vibration in the shell and keeping stress away from the tension rods, helping the heads stay in tune. Additionally, the 2-up and 1-down configuration keeps all the toms within easy reach while the extra deep bass drum produces a powerful, yet naturally equalized tone.

Additionally, a matching Mars Snare Drum gives a unified look to the set while providing a solid fundamental crack.

    Awesome kit with great sound. I use this kit in my recording studio and for outdoor performances. Very smart selection of shells size, rack toms sound awesome, floor tome gives deep BIG sound. Bass Drum (22 x 18 with birch wooden hoops) needs NO pillows No blankets inside!! Sounds awesome as it is! Snare (14 x 6,5) sounds great! It's a GREAT KIT! 100% satisfied!

    I may be asking the same question, again, but does "no hardware" and "only the shells" mean it doesn't come with the mount for the toms? I'm just a hobbyist, I'm not and never will be in a band and it seems each drum brand has a proprietary mounting system. What works on Pearl doesn't work on Mapex?

    What is the name of the Tom holder for this set? I am looking to purchase this kit and i understand the Tom mount does not come with it, so I want to be able to search and purchase the holder separately. Or any advice on any other brand Tom mounts that I would be able to use on the mapex mars toms?

    It is just the shell pack. The hardware is sold separately. We have a number of double bass pedals in stock.
