NAMM 2025: What We Know So Far

The NAMM Show returns to the Anaheim Convention Center in sunny Southern California January 21–25. This year, festivities span five days, kicked off by educational, workshop-style events January 21–22, followed by three days of exciting exhibitions by the global musical instrument industry’s top brands and most imaginative innovators.

A gear lover’s paradise, the annual Winter NAMM convention showcases thousands of guitars, basses, effects pedals, keyboards and drums, alongside recording and live sound equipment, DJ and lighting tools, and more. It also offers attendees a wealth of opportunities to grow creatively and professionally—and replenish their artistic reservoirs along the way.

Ibanez Acoustic Guitars

Ibanez has announced a range of fresh beginner- and intermediate-level acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars, including the A70M1E Jumbo, TCY621 Talman double-cutaway and PN50 parlor.

The A70M1E is constructed from a solid Sitka spruce top with okoume back and sides, and includes a proprietary Ibanez T-bar undersaddle pickup and AEQ-TP2 preamp. New to the Talman lineup of acoustic-electrics is the TCY621 in a matte blackout finish. Electric guitarists looking to add the inimitable timbre of an acoustic to their arsenal will gravitate toward the Ibanez TCY621 series for its slick double-cutaway body shape and smooth playability.

Finally, the parlor-shaped PN50 in a brown sunburst finish offers a more traditional playing experience, while the smaller body style and shorter 24.4" scale length make it great for the road or travel.

Martin Acoustic Guitars

The legendary Martin company may have been established in 1833, but that doesn’t mean they’re slowing down in 2025. Martin has announced a complete refresh of their Standard Series as well as three new models in the lineup—the 000-17, D-17 and OM-45. Refined specs across the family include Sitka spruce Golden Era (GE) top bracing; a GE Modified Low Oval neck profile; a thinner, beveled-edge fretboard; fine-tuned string spacing at the nut; and a sleek, vintage-style neck heel.

New entries to the made-in-Mexico Road Series are the Martin DE Retro Plus mahogany dreadnought and 000E Retro Plus mahogany Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitars. For the first time ever in the Road Series, each new model boasts a torrefied solid spruce top, enhancing resonance and lending the instrument the inimitable, broken-in voice of a treasured vintage relic.

Ibanez Electric Guitars

Ibanez unveils the AZ Standard series—a mid-priced offering defined by AZ versatility and speed. The AZ22S1F starts at $549.99, and comes spec’d with a gorgeous flame maple top, roasted maple neck, 22 jumbo stainless steel frets, Ibanez Classic Custom HSS pickups and the sonically diverse dyna-MIX9 switching system.

The Ibanez S series also presents the Axe Design Lab SML721 in Arctic Ocean Matte. This ultramodern multi-scale 6-string sports an iconic Wizard neck, 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, Q58 humbuckers voiced for contemporary metal, Gotoh locking tuners and luminescent side dots for dimly lit stages.

Next up, players seeking an affordable archtop that excels in multiple genres should look no further than the Ibanez Artcore AS73G in Moonstone Silver Flat. The semi-hollowbody Artcore lineup is reputed for its vintage-inspired looks, expressive playability and diverse tonal range. Ibanez Bass Guitars

Ibanez is now offering the ever-popular SR300E 4-string bass in a striking new Deep Ocean Metallic colorway. Like the brand’s electrics, Ibanez basses are equipped with lightning-fast necks—great for beginning bassists or guitarists purchasing a bass for the first time. Mackie

KORG

KORG is excited to announce the miniKORG 700Sm—a reimagining of 1974’s game-changing miniKORG 700S, in a portable modern format with upgrades for contemporary musicians.
