Some good, some cheap parts

At first I thought this would be a great kit for home maintenance of my guitars. Seemed like an awesome deal given the fact that buying the components separately would cost much more. After it arrived I realized why it was such a deal. Pros - the Ruler - small and good for measuring anything under 6" - Carry case seems well made Neutral - String winder is small and seems to work ok. Similar to many other basic winders you'd find out there - Hex wrench variety (13 different sizes) - don't need that many. Would have preferred these in a multi-tool format. Cons - Clunky, heavy, cheap feeling wire cutter (WAY to big for what you need). - Multi-head screwdriver also feels cheap; standard size slot and Philips heads - not for the micro-size screws you find on your guitar. - 3 "Wonder Wipes" - instrument polish, fretboard conditioner, and string cleaner - one of each. There is only enough room for 3 of these 'handy-wipe' packs - and after one cleaning, you have to either buy more to refill your kit - My kit was missing the microfiber polish cloth. Overall * I'd hoped for some mid-quality tools, but discovered I didn't care for the set as much as I thought I would. * I ordered it online - had I had a chance to inspect it closer in the store, I would have passed on it. * If you are interested in this kit, check it out in person at a local GC - if you order online, you must pay for return shipping, and GC will deduct the value of uncharged 'free shipping' cost from your refund. Approx $9 to ship from my location (not worth the $9 return + $9 free shipping deduction).
