  • Great for single-coil clean sound, but that's about it

This amp has a great clean tone that works really nicely with single coil pickups (I have a strat). I tried using my tele with P90's in it and the sound started flubbing out. I added an OD pedal and it made a really weird fuzzy sound (it sounded awful). The onboard reverb is also very subpar. I am a blues/blues rock player who likes to have a little dirt for rhythm and light/moderate gain for lead stuff (I mainly use pedals for this). If you play mostly clean and use strats and traditional teles, this is the amp for you. If you plan on using dirt, invest in a different amp.

I use the product for practicing & recording and possibly for gigs. Loud, very clean sound. Works well with the DV MARK 4x12 which has some odd resonant frequencies. Works well with my other cabs too. Takes pedals well. However, I may cover the amp title for gigs. Raw dawg is cool for bars, but maybe not for schools or church. Piece of electrical tape should cover it up fine if needed.

  • save your money please! sounds great for only two weeks.

I am interested in the DV Mark Raw Dawg 60 or 250 watt. They are the same price. I play classic rock. Both clubs and some larger venues like outside concerts and club houses. Don't want to get overpowering, But not sure which one to get. Is the 60 loud enough or do I need the 250. I see that you have a open box 250 for sale and I would have to wait for the 60 watt unless you have it in stock.

Thanks,

Phil

The DV Mark Raw Dawg EG 250W is nice but I don't think you need 250 watts. That being said, it is available. A lot depends on what you're playing through. Through a 4 x12 Celestion loaded cab, 60 watts will kill.
