Celebrate a heavy metal bass legend with the Morley Cliff Burton Power Wah Fuzz pedal. As the bassist on the first three albums by thrash metal icons Metallica, Cliff Burton was known for playing his bass like a guitar with a high-octane, innovative style. Along with revolutionary techniques and unbridled power, Burton’s sound was also shaped by the pedals he used, most notably the vintage ’70s Morley Power Wah Fuzz heard on classic tracks like "(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth." Now, you can tackle that same tone with this incredible tribute version made to match Burton’s brutal bass. Along with Morley’s premium buffer circuit for a pure signal, this switchless, optical Power Wah Fuzz pedal features a Distressed Chrome housing, glow-in-the-dark treadle rubber and Cliff Burton’s signature on the top and front. This exclusive Morley Cliff Burton Power Wah Fuzz is available only at Guitar Center.

Capture the Look and Tone of Cliff Burton’s Morley Pedal

As the bassist on Metallica’s monumental first albums, Cliff Burton created a revolutionary sound that still inspires players decades after his untimely passing. Along with his expressive, unorthodox playing style, Burton utilized a select handful of pedals to shape his sound, including a ’70s Morley Power Wah Fuzz. The Morley Cliff Burton Power Wah Fuzz is a faithful recreation of that original vintage pedal, delivering the unmistakable ripped speaker sound of early Metallica. This authentic tribute even features a Distressed Chrome housing to mimic Burton’s own battle-worn chassis, and fully harness the look and feel of the thrash legend.

Improvements for the Modern Musician

While this Power Wah Fuzz tribute version is designed to emulate Cliff Burton’s iconic ’70s version, it also features quality-of-life improvements that will make it even easier to dive into old-school thrash. A Premium Buffer circuit ensures a pure signal, while "switchless activation" allows you to trigger the pedal by simply stepping on the treadle and then releasing to bypass. Additionally, the pedal is adorned with Burton’s signature on the top, as well as glow-in-the-dark treadle rubber to easily locate the pedal even on dimly lit stages. The pedal is powered by one 9-volt battery and is compatible with most 9V adapters.

It sounds amazing with my Squire Jazz bass and my Jackson. The fuzz has a "strong bite" to it, which I absolutely love. The Wah sounds amazing when paired with the fuzz. When ever I use it I have the fuzz and wah on, for a slightly "muted" fuzz. Sounds good for early Metallica Songs.

  • Classic Cliff !

Ok, this pedal is a lot of fun ! It's plug in play ready ! It's very sensitive to the touch, but you'll get use to it. If you're a fan of Metallica (primarily the 3 bass players that were/are in the band) then this pedal is for you! Sounds just like their sound during certain tunes.
