I take back my previous review of Mitchell went backwards

I wrote a negative review based off a couple I tried out in guitar center a few months back. I don't know if they were just set up horrible or what but I went and plugged another one of these up while waiting to cash out on a used guitar I sold gc and it sounded pretty solid and and played well/stayed in tune fine. I bought it for 179.00 on a trade to compare to my ms450 "which I love" and figured if it sucked id return it. After adjusting the poles raising the action and adjusting the pickup height it sounded as good if not better than my ms450. I will say the qc has slipped a bit as I had trouble with my springs on my pickups and one tone nob comes off a little too easy but all in all it sounds great and it plays great

Be Careful! Big hit or miss!

On the surface the MS470 looks like you're getting a lot of guitar for the money. Theoretically you are IF you're lucky enough to get one of the good ones. I picked up one of these at GC last week and thought the value proposition was appealing, however, it didn't hit the home run like I hoped. Lots, and I mean LOTS of blemishes, tool marks, scratches and issues. Is it playable? Yes, but only if you want to take your tools to it every day. I've replaced the strings, done a setup, cleaned it, check all the nuts, and screws, and I just can't seem to get this thing in a good playable state. I spend more time trying to solve issues everyday rather than playing. It won't hold a tuning, even with the locking tuners, the low E won't intonate, there's fret buzz, the strap nut keeps coming loose even after tightening it over and over. It's just not that good. I will be returning it later today and selecting a different guitar. If you're considering this model, use caution. Look it over closely, spend some time playing it and inspecting it before you made the purchase.

A set-neck, mahogany guitar for under $300? YES PLEASE!! I wasn't a fan of the hardware. I upgraded the tuners and electronics. Now it plays AND sounds good!

I play in a semi-pro band, you know -- classic a few 30 somethings enjoying their time. I also fix and assemble les pauls occasionally as a side gig. I have a Epi LP Standard and a Studio, and a few Firefly's. I ran into a Bengal Burst MS470 and loved how it looked. Didn't have the wife's approval then, so postponed the purchase. I bought it online at a sale, and Thank God that I did. With a bit of adjustment, it sounds great. The pickups needed to be aligned and a bit of higher action. My next guitar will be a Gibson but until then, I'll be keeping this, and sell the other few to make a bit of a budget for it.

All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 7-7.5 lbs

Why are these guitars over priced? I can get a Harley Benton for half the price , or go with a Kramer guitar.
