Markbass

collapse expand iconDescription

The Markbass CMD 102 PV combo bass amp delivers 300W to 500W of power through two 10" speakers, giving you a portable setup with professional tone. Designed for serious bassists, the CMD 102 PV lets you shape your sound with a four-band EQ, old-school filter and three-way switch. The wedge-shaped cabinet can sit on the floor or stand vertical, providing flexible monitoring options on stage. When you need more volume, the combo amp stacks with extension cabinets for filling larger venues.

New Combo Head Offers Convenient Front-Panel Controls

The CMD 102 PV features Markbass's Little Mark 58R combo head with all connections and controls on the front panel for easy access. You'll appreciate the optimal ergonomics and practical design whether adjusting settings between songs or making quick changes on the fly. The front panel also includes a mute switch for instant volume cutoffs and silent tuning.

Sculpt Your Tone With Flexible EQ and Switching

Shape your sound with the 4-band EQ section, boosting or cutting each band by up to 16dB. The old-school filter rolls off highs for a smooth, rounded tone when needed. A three-way switch selects between flat, scooped and footswitch-controlled EQ settings. The scooped preset boosts lows and highs while reducing mids for a classic slap bass sound. Connect an optional footswitch to enable the mute function and scooped EQ with your feet.

New Bi-Band Limiter Provides Natural Dynamics

The CMD 102 PV features Markbass's new bi-band limiter which responds faster to your playing for more natural dynamics. The limiter allows your high end to breathe, resulting in a quick, punchy attack even at high volumes. The limiter makes the amp a top choice for players who want an aggressive tone with open highs.

Wedge Cabinet Offers Floor Monitor or Upright Use

The wedge-shaped cabinet design lets you position the CMD 102 PV on the floor as a monitor or upright as a traditional combo amp. When used as a monitor, the angled cabinet aims the sound directly at you for the best personal monitoring on stage. The cabinet's birch-ply construction and durable vinyl covering can withstand the demands of frequent transport and performance.

Expand Your Sound With External Cabs

While the CMD 102PV has plenty of power on its own, you can stack it with Markbass extension cabs for more volume and a bigger low end. The combo's Little Mark 58R head provides speaker outs to connect external cabs like the New York 122 vertical 2x12 or Standard 104HR horizontal 4x10 (sold separately). With additional cabs, you'll have a portable Markbass rig capable of handling any venue. The CMD 102PV helps you build a professional bass system tailored to your needs.

Love the form factor. Wedge design is excellent. Small and light enough, but enough power to satisfy my needs. The first one I ordered died, but my GC Pro rep Troy had me exchanged and back up in no time.

  • Solid little amp

I dig this little Amp, especially the range of clarity while delivering a punch offered in this little package. While it's very versatile I find it just a little shy on the lower end… the old-school function is pretty sweet for getting it to a warmer tone but anyone who has ever played through a 15 knows what I am talking about… I just wish that Mark Bass would stop messing around and create a combo with 2x10 and 1x15, preferably in the 800w range to cover the spectrum. I play metal, jazz, rock, country, and even some oldies when the mood strikes. Been playing for about 30 years and appreciate equipment that is built to this spec at its price point. However, can't give it 5 stars because it still needs a little more punch.

I love this Amp. The sound is detailed and powerful. All of the controls are easy to access and use. Size is perfect for my practice room. Playing my Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass has never sounded better.

  • Great sounding combo amp! Powerful, practical, and light.

I'm using it for gigs, for rehearsals, and for recording. It has great features, including the adjustable line out level, effects loop, pre/post eq switch, and ground lift. These can be used in both a recording and a live show application. And if all you care about is how it sounds coming out of the cabinet speakers, you'll be pleased!

  • Great Amp for smaller stages

Perfect amp for smaller stages or tight fit areas, the kick back design makes it much easier to hear and I no longer need an amp stand. The controls are all front facing with nothing in the back, allowing for much easier access. The tone is very clear, articulate with a strong mid focus. The Old School knob is simple to adjust on the fly to add more thump or sizzle. A great low profile combo for smaller stages, that's super lightweight, sounds great and more than enough for small or moderate volume gigs.

    1) As long as it's 8 ohms you can. Yes, 500 watts at 4 ohms.

    1) Not really, it's a bass amp. 2) I don't know what level of volume you require. It has an EIA of 101 dB so it's pretty loud. 3) Markbass makes only bass gear.
