Incredible Guitar for the Price
Just purchased the Guild D-240E yesterday. After several hours playing it, my initial impressions: Wonderfully crafted instrument! The fit and finish is impeccable. It is an understated but VERY attractive guitar. The soundboard began to open up after a couple hours of playing. This thing is LOUD and sustains all day. I look forward to hearing how it sounds after a couple months of breaking in. I did need to tweak the truss rod just a bit for intonation purposes (only a quarter turn), but now it's perfect. I am highly impressed with the Guild brand. They may not be an "un-sung" hero of the guitar industry, but they are certainly "under-sung." Right up there with Martin, Gibson, and Taylor in my opinion.

Was alittle disappointed
After reading reviews I purchased the 240e and realized immediately it was not for me. I played it for a week and even restrung it with string joys but I just felt like it dosnt offer enough tone, really left me wanting more. But build quality was great. Ended up with Taylor110ce

I bought this guitar off the rack at thr Roseville, CA. store. The set up did not need any attention. This guitar is light and sounds better each time I play it. Recommend string change to Elixir.

Got this guitar about a year ago and I'm still in love with it. Great value for under $500. From my beginner's perspective it plays and sounds as good as some guitars more than double the cost. I love the 11/16 nut width for my smaller hands. The neck feels great. Highly recommended.

I was looking to upgrade my guitar after taking lessons for a few months, and after trying out this one in the store, I knew it was for me. In addition to looking beautiful, it has a bright, beautiful sound. It's also really comfortable for me to play, so I can't wait to keep learning with it.
