Fender finally stole me away from PRS!

I've been a PRS guy for 25 years. I love their stuff, but it was time for a change. I traded in my PRS S2 McCarty 594 on this one in the Mystic Surf Green color (which is gorgeous in person). The color reminded my younger daughter of Elsa from Frozen, but I couldn't name my guitar after a Disney character. Instead, I named her Elsie - named after my grandmother's sister who died at age 7 from Bright's Disease. Anyways -- I've always loved the Fender sound, but couldn't find a strat that I connected with. The new neck profile on the AM Pro II did it for me. This thing sounds amazing, and is incredibly versatile. The GC in Midlothian VA gave me a steep discount because mine was a scratch and dent model, although the defect is incredibly minor, and in a spot that no one would see. When I walked in, I saw it up on the wall, and it called to me. You know how that goes sometimes - the sky opens up, and a light from heaven shines down on the guitar that you're meant to have. That's what happened with me. Pretty sure angels were singing as well. I didn't buy it that day. I went home, did my research, got permission from the wife, and even she likes the look and sound better than the PRS. I don't think I'll ever get rid of this one. My adult daughter is learning to play, so maybe it'll become hers many decades from now. I'm playing it at church through a Blackstar combo amp, and at home through a Fender Mustang Micro Plus headphone amp.

The Fender Stratocaster American Pro (this one) and the Gibson Les Paul Standard are the best guitars I know of. The gold standard standards of excellent playing and workmanship. Nothing needs to be added to this guitar. It is worth it.
My new best guitar

I have a range of guitars that I use and this is by far the easiest, playable guitar I have. It has a great sound, I love the pull pot and the neck is comfortable. I got the night shade finish which looks fantastic and is a different direction than my usual sunburst/tobacco finish. I have an SG, an L.P.,an Dean Cadillac and some others but this I s definitely my new favorite. Highly recommend !!

This is the nicest guitar I've ever owned -- not that there have been that many, but I thought I'd splurge a little on this one, and I'm glad I did. It needs nothing. Sounds fantastic, feels great in my hands -- there's nothing about this that I think I'd ever "out grow" and need anything better in a Stratocaster. All the finish work is perfectly well done -- I don't see a single defect anywhere on it. I got the mystic surf green color, and it's like a sparkly sage green. Photos online don't really show it well -- if you can see one in person, try to before ordering. I like it, but YMMV.
