Description
The Fender American Performer Stratocaster HSS is a US made electric guitar with features designed for inspiring playability and tone. The American Performer Stratocaster HSS comes equipped with Fender Yosemite single-coil pickups and a DoubleTap humbucking pickup in the bridge position, providing a range of classic Stratocaster tones as well as higher-output humbucker sounds. A push-pull tone pot activates the neck pickup and Fender's Greasebucket circuit rolls off highs without reducing gain. The modern C-shaped maple neck has a 9.5" fingerboard radius and 22 jumbo frets for effortless playability.
Yosemite Pickups Produce Dynamic, Nuanced Tones
The American Performer Stratocaster HSS includes a pair of Fender Yosemite single-coil pickups, designed to produce rich, expressive tones with a musical and highly articulate voice. The DoubleTap humbucker in the bridge position combines full humbucking and single-coil voices in one pickup while eliminating volume loss in single-coil mode, providing a range of sounds ideal for any musical situation.
Versatile Electronics Shape Your Sound
A push-pull pot activates the neck pickup and Fender's popular Greasebucket circuit rolls off highs without reducing gain. The 5-way blade switch selects pickup combinations from full neck tone to full bridge tone, with all the classic in-between settings that Strat players know and love.
Fast, Comfortable Neck Inspires Effortless Playing
The modern C-shaped maple neck has a 9.5" radius fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets, providing a fast, comfortable playing feel for almost any style. The alder body with gloss polyester finish gives the American Performer Stratocaster HSS a classic look and balanced, full tone.
Legendary Stratocaster Bridge and Tuning Machines
The American Performer Stratocaster HSS features Fender's 6-screw Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo bridge for expressive pitch-bending effects and Fender ClassicGear tuning machines for precise, stable tuning.

Amazing guitar, gonna play it forever.

I bought this guitar after playing an Epi LP for almost 10 years. I was gifted a Squire strat that was fun so I decided to spend some real money on a instrument that I will play forever. This was the guitar I bought and I couldn't be happier with it. To start, it's got a beautiful finish. It's a purplish red, with a tasteful amount of shimmer. The neck is smooth, and fits perfectly in my hand. The tone from these pickups is unreal. Again, this is my first big guitar purchase but it is just night and day difference in quality from the Squire strat and Epi LP. Push pull pot is nice, I don't thing the single coil mode is exactly like a SSS strat, but it is so worth it to kick on the humbucker for some killer distortion. The trem is fun, the guitar stays in tune extremely well. I try to tune before I play, but most of the time the guitar is dead on, even after using the trem. Most importantly, this guitar is so much fun to play, smooth as butter. I genuinely have a new found desire to play, specifically the flip out of this guitar. 10/10. I'll try and update in a year or so.
Decent American Made Guitar For The Money

Good feeling guitar. Light weight and easy to play. Quality workmanship. And sounds just like you want a strat to sound. The Humbucker takes it to another level.
Decent lower tier strat

The selling point for this instrument is the "made in USA" stamp. If you are an entry level player then this could be a decent instrument for you (if cost is not an issue and if you want to own a fender strat). Downsides imho are plenty: feels cheap, quality control is very hit or miss on these performers, pickups do not provide the classic fender strat tones. Overall if you've owned an American standard or an American professional then this is a major downgrade for the price cut. It is overpriced and in that price range (and even a lower price range) you can get a much better instrument as long as you don't care about the fender logo being on it! Cheers and rock on!

Great sound and feel. Can't speak enough about the fender strat. The HSS provides great options for changing sounds. Purchase at GC was easy
Shaw does it again.

I love this guitar. It's loaded with Tim Shaw's new Yosemite p/u's. They are smokin' . The coil split is a nice touch. Adjusted tremolo and neck to my liking. Great value in this guitar.

Blemished. Could I have a some pictures for blemishes? Thanks
Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what the blemish is. However, it would only be a minor cosmetic flaw and would not effect the guitars play ability.
