The Fender Custom Shop Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Child Stratocaster Journeyman Relic is a meticulous recreation of the legendary guitarist's fabled upside-down Strat, reimagined for right-handed players. Hendrix rewrote the book on electric guitar, his wild techniques and psychedelic tones inspiring generations. Now, you can tap into that revolutionary spirit with a guitar that captures the vibe and voice of his iconic instrument.

Reversed Headstock Unlocks Authentic Feel and Response

Just like Hendrix's original, the Voodoo Child Strat boasts a reversed headstock that subtly alters the string geometry for a playing experience true to his upside-down approach. The increased scale length on the low E and A strings provides a tighter, more controllable feel ideal for chording and riffing. While the slightly shortened high E and B strings let you bend with ease and add expressive vibrato. It's the perfect setup for unleashing your inner Voodoo Child.

Handwound '69 Pickups Deliver Searing Hendrix Tone

At the heart of this guitar's magic tone lie a trio of handwound '69 single-coil pickups, wound specifically for this left-handed instrument. Their reversed pole-piece orientation creates shimmering overtones and heightened upper harmonics reminiscent of Hendrix's soaring lead tones. The bridge pickup's reversed slant captures the searing, cutting sound of his rhythm work. From gritty chords to mind-bending solos, these pickups let you summon the full palette of Hendrix's groundbreaking artistry.

Relic Nitro Finish With Hendrix's Signature Wear

The two-piece alder body wears a Journeyman relic nitrocellulose lacquer finish, its aged patina reflecting years on the road. Every ding, scratch and smudge is an authentic re-creation of the wear patterns on Hendrix's treasured original. Even the maple neck sports a vintage-tinted, well-played relic treatment with a '65 Oval C profile. It's an instrument dripping with hard-earned character and mojo.

Vintage-Spec Appointments for Classic Hendrix Mojo

Other period-correct details transport you back to Hendrix's psychedelic era. The 9.5" radius fingerboard with 21 narrow tall frets delivers an old-school playing feel. The 3-ply eggshell pickguard and vintage-style tuning machines are right off a '60s Strat. Even the bone nut and American Vintage tremolo bridge capture the nuances of Hendrix's tone. This guitar is a true time machine back to the summer of '69.
