Built for discerning bassists, it offers unparalleled tone and playability through every note.
Dual Humbuckers For Bold, Articulate Tone
This model's HH pickup configuration features two Music Man humbuckers positioned to maximize tonal versatility. These pickups are engineered for articulate lows, rich mids, and sparkling highs, making the bass equally adept at delivering growling grooves or melodic runs. The onboard active EQ system adds further tonal customization, allowing players to dial in everything from deep, resonant bass tones to crisp, cutting highs. Each note is rendered with precision and clarity, ensuring the instrument thrives in both studio and live performance settings.
Active Electronics Enhance Tone Sculpting
The StingRay's active electronics provide superior control over your sound, featuring a versatile 3-band EQ system for precise tonal shaping. The onboard preamp ensures powerful output while maintaining clarity, even at high volumes. With separate controls for bass, mid, and treble frequencies, players can tailor their sound to suit specific performance needs. Whether dialing in a focused low-end foundation or a punchy high-end attack, this system delivers tonal consistency and allows for seamless adjustments in any live or studio scenario.
Ergonomic Design For Effortless Playability
The ash body of this bass is carefully contoured for comfort, making extended playing sessions feel natural and fatigue-free. Its lightweight construction ensures easy handling, while the sleek ebony fretboard offers a smooth surface for intricate fingerwork. The 3+1 tuning key configuration balances the instrument's weight distribution and facilitates quick, accurate tuning adjustments. Combined with its fast neck profile, this bass is designed for fluid transitions across frets, allowing for greater expression and dynamic playing styles.
Road-Ready Build For Long-Term Reliability
Durable construction and high-quality components make this bass a dependable choice for touring musicians. The solid ash body provides strength and resonance, while the ebony fretboard resists wear over time. Its robust hardware, including the iconic Music Man bridge and tuning machines, ensures tuning stability and intonation accuracy under demanding conditions. At first glance this bass was gorgeous. The front wood and finish were amazing. The back was a different story. I couldn't believe this was a BFR body. Knots, flaws, scars and just generally gnarly piece of wood. Not flaws in the finish itself but in the wood. Most of my instruments have clear finishes and this is the worst looking body I have ever received. Even worse was that two of the four ebony knobs had visible cracks. I truthfully can't believe this made it out of the factory. FWIW it did tune perfectly have a beautiful neck and action. Intonation was perfect. Just not a bass that is worth 3K even minus the cracked knobs.
Amazing bass
