Mahogany and Flame Maple for Balanced Tone

Built with a solid mahogany body and flame maple top, the Les Paul Custom Widow delivers a tonal foundation that balances warmth and clarity. The mahogany construction emphasizes midrange richness and sustain, while the flame maple top adds brightness and definition to every note. Enhanced by the guitar's 7-ply binding and gloss finish, the materials work together to deliver a responsive and articulate sound. Whether you're exploring complex chord voicings or melodic lead lines, the combination of premium tonewoods ensures excellent tonal depth and dynamic range with every performance.

ProBucker Custom Pickups for Dynamic Sound

The Les Paul Custom Widow is equipped with Epiphone ProBucker Custom pickups, offering tonal versatility inspired by vintage Gibson humbuckers. The neck pickup delivers smooth, creamy tones ideal for rhythm playing, while the bridge pickup provides tight, focused clarity for leads. Both pickups capture the full-frequency spectrum, from warm lows to sparkling highs. Paired with CTS potentiometers and independent tone and volume controls, this setup offers allows you to shape your sound with precision. The ProBucker Custom pickups ensure rich harmonic detail and dynamic response, making them ideal for recording and live performances.

Premium Electronics for Precision Control

The Les Paul Custom Widow's electronics are designed for seamless playability, featuring independent volume and tone controls alongside a three-way pickup selector switch. The CTS potentiometers offer a smooth, tactile feel for precise adjustments, allowing players to sculpt their tone with ease. The intuitive layout ensures quick transitions between settings, whether blending pickups or isolating specific frequencies. This setup provides a user-friendly interface for achieving nuanced tonal variations in real time, making it a reliable choice for demanding musical environments.

Chrome Hardware and Durable Construction

Designed for long-lasting performance, this special-edition Les Paul boasts elegant chrome hardware, including Grover Rotomatic tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio and a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge with a stopbar tailpiece. These components provide stable tuning and optimal string vibration for sustained resonance. Combined with its set-neck construction and reinforced build, this model is crafted to withstand the rigors of frequent use while maintaining consistent playability.

Waited Patiently for this release

I've been a lifelong Epiphone fan and this one doesn't disappoint. Lighter than other Les Pauls. A slimmer modern neck profile that's very comfortable. The pickups sound good and have some bite. I bought my widow off of the floor at the Spokane store and in comparison to the other 3, it was most similar to the guitar on the site. The purple was WAY darker in person and almost looked black from a distance and had a decent grain but the finish really hid it. I had to hold the guitar in direct sunlight to even see the grain. The red looked similar to what's pictured on the site, but the particular guitar their had a very weak grain. The pickup switch half of the face was plain, no flame at all. The cutout side had a very faint flame. The orange one had a decent flame, but I found the orange binding stood out a little too much against the rest of the guitar.

Did a set up. Lowered the action a touch, and oiled the fretboard. Bigger neck for Mr than usual and I love it. The Widow models are absolutely gorgeous. I don't think anyone who buys one will have any regrets. Stock Pro Sucker's are a great match with the woods used.

WOW, Epiphone has really stepped up. Not that they were bad but now you have to ask .."why pay thousands more for its sister companies gear" The hardware, quality, playability is all there. AND THE LOOK!!!! A real head turner.

  • Decent product, sounds good and plays well

If I were to buy this again I would want to see it in person beforehand. I played one in a guitar center near me that had a much better fit and finish than the one I received, which is always a gamble online. But overall I like it and would probably buy it again.

  • Really cool finish

It's a pretty standard Epiphone LP custom, but I really love the widow color scheme, plus it's a limited run which is nice.
