collapse expand iconDescription

The Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah effects pedal provides an unprecedented level of control over your wah tone. The 535Q lets you select the center frequency and range of the wah sweep, enabling you to craft your perfect wah voice. Once you've achieved your ideal tone, engage the adjustable boost to ensure your wah cuts through when you need it. Loaded with custom circuitry, the 535Q delivers up to six different wah ranges with a boost of 0 to +16dB, all in a road-ready pedal built to withstand the rigors of the stage. Experience the most versatile wah on the market.

Dial in Your Dream Wah

The 535Q wah pedal makes customizing your wah tone a breeze. Simply turn the Q-dial to choose where the wah's frequency will center, then adjust the range of the sweep. Options abound, from a narrow, sharp wah perfect for funk and reggae to a broad, subtle wah ideal for rock and blues. Once you've crafted your signature wah, the 535Q's hardwired on/off switch ensures it engages only when you want it.

Cut Through the Mix With Ease

The 535Q's adjustable boost helps your wah slice through dense mixes. With 0 to +16dB of gain at your command, you can add sustain and volume to any note. Flip the boost on for your wah-infused lead lines and solos, then switch it off when you want your wah tone alone. The 535Q puts complete control of your boost at the tap of your toe.

Road-Tested and Ready to Rock

Dunlop designed the 535Q to handle the demands of touring and live performance. Its sturdy metal casing and rugged footswitch stand up to constant stomping, while the 535Q's custom circuitry provides maximum tone with minimal noise. An LED indicator lets you know when the effect is engaged, even on dimly lit stages. The 535Q is a wah built by musicians for musicians.

Unleash a World of Wah

The Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Multi-Wah opens up a universe of tonal possibilities. From searing classic rock leads to funky rhythm work, this versatile pedal delivers the wah tone you need. Experience vintage-voiced and modern wah ranges, adjust the frequency spread and boost level, and unleash expressive, emotive wah colors.

The first 5.0 for me...

The Dunlop Crybaby 535Q Multi-Wah pedal is the first item I've rated a perfect 5.0. I walked into Guitar Center, looking to buy a DigiTech Jimi Hendrix pedal but when I stumbled across this, I was truely blown away. I always loved the original Dunlop Crybaby, but now with custom changable options, I couldn't pass this up! I've used this thing on the road and it is a tank, I don't see this thing ever breaking. You have 2 boosters for the EQ, a Q knob for a bunch of different modes and a volume boost that really comes in handy. You can get pretty much all those other wah's into this ONE pedal. I bought it at first also because Adam Jones of Tool uses it and now I see why! Another great thing is it's bypass, if it's turned off, you get the same perfect signal and it just goes great. A truely great pedal, I highly recommend it!

535Q

I bought my 535Q when it first came out. It was one of the first variable wahs on the market. I like it for the most part. It takes a lot of experience with it to dial in your favorite wah tone(s). In my experience, I changed setting and twisted knobs until I found that ONE wah tone I like the best. As with most wah pedals, it's hard to find something that retains the classic wah tone with overdrive and, especially, heavy overdrive. I found one setting for overdrive and another for cleans. If I were to buy a new wah pedal, I'd pay the extra money for the Fulltone Clyde. It has lusher tone and a buffer setting to retain great wah with overdrive. You will only need one (maybe two) wah pedals in your life and its a staple in most players' pedal board. Spend whatever you can afford for the best wah you can get. Compare the 535Q with the Fulltone Clyde and see what sounds best to you.

Submitted as part of a sweepstakes

Insert battery, plug into amp, plug guitar in and WAH away. It sounds even better coupled with a flange effect.

  • Fun Pedal to use.

I've been looking for a wah that can get along well with higher gain tones like the ZW-45. The 535Q can get very close! With the Q about 3/4 clockwise and the range on the second from lowest notch, it has that same vocal growl that ZW-45 has. The boost button is a totally welcome bonus given that I only use the wah for solo work. It's nice to know I can keep a supply of new wahs (the ZW-45 was discontinued years ago) if/when I need them. All Dunlops are built like a tank; I've been using them live for years with no problems from any of them. The 535Q can do a lot more than mesh with high gain tones; roll that range knob back a few clicks, roll the Q knob back to 1/2-1/4 clockwise, and you can get that quacky sound for those clean tones. The only thing I wish it had was an LED. Regardless, great wah that I'm very happy with.

This is the best and most versatile wah you can get, hands down. The cry-baby is already the definitive wah pedal, and this simply adds customization and versatility. The ability to adjust the frequency sweep and intensity of the effect is so useful for really shaping your wah sound. You can get anything from a smooth, subtle low sweep to a super-quacky, intense wah that would even make Kirk Hammett proud. Get this one!
