Nothing Better in a Solid Mahogany Guitar at this Price!

Yamaha's are consistent in build quality, intonation and sound great! This model has solid wood construction sounding better that some more expensive guitars. Electronics allow dialing in your sound! Adjusted truss rod adding more relief for my preferred action. No regrets.

It's been a long time since I've played a floor model at GC and was pleasantly surprised. Most of the time any guitar under $1500 just sounds tight and muffled to me - any brand. They either sound flat, boxy, or like a ukulele. But when I payed this AC3M I couldn't put it down. Very clear and dynamic, with some surprising amount of overtones. The fit and finish are great, it's beautiful. The tuners are pretty good, neck feels great. I'm not a big guy and I could not find a smaller sized guitar that could put out good sound. This guitar is very responsive. The only thing I did to it was take a little relief out of the neck. I don't even play plugged in, but I walked out with this guitar.
I love my Yamaha AC3M DLX!

This is the first guitar I bought for myself new (not my first guitar overall!) I research and played many acoustic electrics and knew I had to stay in this price point! There are so many out there that are wonderful, but this is the only one at this price that had solid top and sides, and beautiful inlay. I was ready to go with a Taylor or a Breedlove, but honestly the Taylor's sides felt laminated, and they don't have binding on them anymore. I loved the Breedlove, but the model that had the same attributes was a few hundred $ more. Maybe my next guitar will be one. Plus, the Yamaha sounded amazing! She has a ton of sustain! I can hum over the sound hole and the top starts to resonate! The color on the picture is a little lighter than she really is...this is my go to guitar for sure!
I would buy this product again.

I played a number of guitars including other Yamaha's, Taylor's, and Martins before choosing this one. There's just something about the AC3 that makes it stand out from the rest at this price point. Love it. #sweepstakes

I've played 45 years and owned or at least considered all the big brands. I went in to GC to look at Taylors and bought a Martin. Brought it back 3 days later as I wasn't falling in love at all. Happened to pick up this Yamaha AC3M DLX sitting outside the "good" guitar room and immediately knew it was coming home with me. Balanced tone, smooth, mellow and full. Just a joy to play, picked or fingerstyle. My wife preferred the sound of this over all I sampled. It was far less money than I planned to spend, I really didn't have a budget. I realize now I don't care where it was made or what is on the headstock, it just plays beautifully. I'm using this guitar a couple hours a day. My new favorite guitar of 10 I currently own.
All I can say is.............WOW!

This guitar is absolutely stunning. Beautiful finish- color is an offshoot of what is considered traditional. I currently own 4 Yamaha acoustics from the 300 series and 800 series as well as a cutaway dred from the early 2000s. All play and sound great, but the AC3M is in a league of its own. Comparable to much more expensive solid wood guitars with comparable features, this is a no brainer. Purchase it an you will be glad you did. Plays like butter whether fingerstyle or picking. Very evenly balanced between bass and treble. I do reccommend Phos/Bronze vs 80/20. A little more bassy but personal preference. Lets not forget the electronics. I was super suprised at the clarity of the piezo pickup as well as the mic. The controls are easy to use and are not in the way. Before you decide to purchase an upper mid-level solid wood instrument, do yourself a favor and play one. You will be absolutely blown away at the quality of this instrument.

It doesn't seem clear from the description- how is this DLX version different than the 'regular' AC3M?
This difference will be the woods used
