collapse expand iconDescription

Jackson embraces the needs of virtuosic players with this shred machine, the American Series Soloist SL2MG electric guitar, taking the brand’s high-velocity legacy to new heights. Built in Corona, California, and boasting performance-oriented design, this premium instrument provides exceptional stability, sustain and style ideal for modern metal guitarists. The Soloist SL2MG’s naturally heavy tones are perfect for aggressive rhythms and leads, while its deeply contoured body and specialized neck profile encourage stupefying fretboard antics. With the Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG, you can experience high-octane speed, cutting-edge quality and iconic metal attitude.

Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG Neck-Thru Body

Neck-Thru Body for Unparalleled Stability and Sustain

The American Series Soloist SL2MG by Jackson is built around a neck-thru design with a solid three-piece maple core running from headstock to strap button. This continuous wood build, completed by an alder body, provides exceptional stability, and enhances string vibration and sustain by allowing the guitar to resonate as one piece. You’ll notice notes bloom with added richness and nuance compared to bolt-on alternatives, which offer a more immediate attack and decay. For metal guitarists, neck-thru traits translate to better tuning stability and power for low chugs, longer-ringing lead lines and more full-bodied chord voicings.

Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG Fretboard

Compound Ebony Fretboard Offers Fast, Fluid Playing

Outfitted for technical, shred-ready performance, the Soloist SL2MG features an ebony fretboard with a compound radius that flattens out as you move up the neck. This 12"–16" carve provides a comfortable curve for chording around the nut, but also allows effortless fretting-hand acrobatics in the upper registers. 24 jumbo stainless steel frets also accommodate intense string bending with flawless intonation and imperviousness to wear. A pair of graphite reinforcement rods run the length of the neck for additional support, making it ruggedly resistant to the external forces of nature, including temperature- and humidity-induced warping.

Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG EMG Humbuckers

EMG Humbuckers Conjure Tight, Modern Metal Tones

The secret to the SL2MG’s brutal high-gain muscle lies in its EMG 81/85 pickup set. These active humbuckers feature powerful ceramic magnets and a wide frequency response that deliver commanding crunch and scorching leads. The EMG 81 in the bridge cranks out tight lows and aggressive mids perfect for chugging rhythms, and the EMG 85 at the neck provides rich warmth and singing highs for soaring solos. With more output and clarity than passive pickups, these iconic EMGs equip the Soloist SL2MG with slicing, contemporary metal tone.

Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG Floyd Rose Tremolo

Floyd Rose Tremolo System Stays in Tune Through Heavy Use

Built to handle serious abuse, the SL2MG features a Floyd Rose 1500 Series double-locking tremolo bridge. This floating system increases tuning stability by locking the strings at both the bridge and nut, so you can drastically alter pitch with the whammy bar while staying in tune. Execute screaming dives, fluttery warbles and everything in between, knowing each note will ring true—then use the fine-tuning pegs on the tailpiece to make minor adjustments between songs or takes. The Floyd Rose 1500 Series also provides smooth, low-friction tremolo action for maximum expressiveness.

Today’s technical metal guitarists rely on the Jackson Soloist SL2MG to serve up bludgeoning riffs and mind-melting leads. Its premium features, including neck-thru construction with graphite reinforcement, stainless steel frets and indestructible Floyd Rose 1500 system, create an exceptionally reliable, high-performance electric guitar. Pick up the Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG at your local Guitar Center and unlock your potential for intricately articulate shredding.

I'm not a collector. I play all of the guitars I have and use them live. I have been gigging with the Jeff Loomis Kelly 6 string and loved it so much I figured Id try one of the USA made Jacksons. I'm sold. This guitar is incredible.

This is by far one of the best guitars made at a reasonable price which is made right here in Corona, California, USA. I've played many guitars like, Kramer's, Charvel Jackson's (more my style 80's rock) and also Gibson's and Fenders not to say any of them are bad guitars, they've been solid guitars for years but, once I got my hands on this Jackson American Series Soloist SL2MG Electric Guitar in Satin Lambo Orange, It just blew my mind at how fast and smooth the action is. It has stainless steel fret's that are done right. This guitar is absolutely awesome, well-crafted to perfection. Excellent hardware to last. This finish is just absolutely top-notch. The satin paint is so smooth where your hands just glide on the neck. The quality control is superb. Great job Jackson! Jackson is doing all the right stuff and listening to what players are looking for. Go and play one. Highly recommend this guitar if you like this style of guitar. You won't be disapointed.
