Description
Electro-Voice combines their renowned sound quality and reliability with cutting-edge technology in the EKX-15P 15" powered 2-way speaker. The EKX-15P is equipped with professional features for delivering your music with power and precision.
1,500W Amplifier Powers an Impressive 134dB SPL
The EKX-15P is equipped with a potent yet efficient 1,500W Class-D amplifier, featuring intelligent thermal management to ensure optimal performance in any environment. This robust power amp drives the EKX-15P's 15" EVS-15M woofer and 1" titanium compression driver to deliver an awe-inspiring 134dB of sound pressure level without distortion.
Flexible Mixer and DSP Provide Sonic Control
A built-in two-channel mixer gives you independent control over two inputs, with XLR/TRS connectors for microphones and instruments plus an RCA input for media players. Adjustable gain on each channel allows you to optimize levels and a clip indicator provides visual monitoring. The onboard DSP offers three preset EQ curves—Music, Live and Club—to quickly adapt the EKX-15P's sound to different applications. You can also store and recall five custom user presets for your own tailored settings.
Lightweight Cabinet Is Ready for the Road
Despite its impressive power and performance, the EKX-15P is highly portable thanks to its lightweight 15mm. wood enclosure and durable EVCoat finish. Integrated aluminum pole mounts and all-metal handles make it easy to set up and transport the speaker to your next gig. You can also link multiple EKX-15P's together or connect a subwoofer using the built-in crossover presets for a high-powered, full-range sound system.
Premium Components and Innovative Design
From the proprietary EVS-15M woofer to the 1" titanium compression driver, every component in the EKX-15P is engineered by Electro-Voice to deliver the natural, accurate sound they're known for. An innovative cabinet design incorporates internal bracing for structural integrity at high volumes. With the EKX-15P, Electro-Voice holds nothing back in creating a powered speaker that meets the demands of working musicians and sound engineers.

Nice upgrade
I was working smaller bars DJ'ing and doing Karaoke, using the Mackie Thump 15P speakers. I recently had the opportunity to book some larger gigs and decided to upgrade to the EKX series. I have very impressed with the 2 EKX 15P speakers, especially coupled with the EV EKX 18" sub. I do believe my next upgrade will be to the ETX 18" sub. The EKX 15P's have plenty of throttle and I have had ZERO distortion at higher levels of volume. The clarity has been quite an eye opener. If they have one negative, is that they don't seem to have quite as much Low end as the Mackie DRM series 15", but other than that, these speakers really do rock the house. I play 5 gigs a week so they are getting plenty of use, and so far have proven very durable ( a little heavy, but durable ). Will try and update this review a year from now for any updates. The only reason it didn't earn 5 stars from me is the small lack of low end compared to the DRM, but if you are looking for great balanced sound that seems to have no limit in volume, you are in the right spot.

QSC just took an EV customer
I dj every Saturday at the local bar so I bought these speakers as an upgrade to my Mackie Thump Series (3yrs old and still looks and works great). At first, i thought these speakers were the best for price and build quailty, and as far as the sound quality itsthe best I've heard from a PA. That all changed for me when only 4 months of mild abuse sent them back for repairs. I bought them over Black Friday 2017 and by 2/23/2018 they would constantly reboot when you put any sort of real power to them way before the clip light. I couldnt even get a replacement speaker for how new they were, they just would give the option to repair it. 800 plus dollars to wait for a replacement is not what i bought these speakers, i am very unimpressed.

Being a DJ these are great for backyard events. In venues , they weren't big enough to hold a loud crisp sound. Unless all you do is backyard gigs, buy them. I switched to QSC towers (kw152,kw153) EV tower does not have a built in fan. It will heat up in my opinion

I use 6 of these for my norteño band great frequency response to accordion and bajó sexto. Only bad thing I noticed is the cheap power cable that it comes with. You have to be careful with it to not twist around.
Amazing speaker for the price!

Bought two of these speakers to use for DJ and live sound. Totally exceeds my expectations. The DSP control in this speaker and the engineering to collaborate the woofer with the tweeter with the enclosure is just amazing. I have only played one of these at a time so far just to try them out. Had them as loud as I would ever need and there was no sign of limiting or clipping (which is clearly indicated on the display if it occurs). I look forward to many years with these speakers and can't wait for the comments when people hear the quality of sound they produce.
