Alvarez

collapse expand iconDescription

The Alvarez Artist Elite AGE910CEARSHB Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a beautiful Grand Auditorium with great character and an open, sophisticated voice. With an amazing look and rich sound, the Grand Auditorium Artist Elite features a solid spruce top braced with an FS6 forward shifted, scalloped bracing system. This provides the instrument with a dynamic projection and instant response. Built with a Macassar ebony body, binding and slim bevel armrest, this Alvarez acoustic-electric is equipped with an Alvarez SYS250 preamp with sidemount 3-band EQ, Presence control and a convenient chromatic tuner. A Bi-level bridge is designed to heighten string tension and improve sustain and response.

The term “solid top” of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to optimize the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

I lost my 25 year old Ibanez in a house fire. I been shopping for months and was down to three guitars to choose from. planned on going to GC to play them and saw this on sale and made the purchase online. it was out of stock but my GC had one so I went to pick up and shawn in sales was great helping me out. got home played a little and love this guitar, been playing for 55 years and never thought I would own such a fine guitar.

  • Really hits the spot for longer fingers

I was on the search for an acoustic with a wider than "average" fret board near the nut. I have long fingers, and have often struggled with open position chords on necks that are anything less than 43mm at the nut. The extra little space on this neck takes some adjusting, but after an hour or so, I felt like I was driving a luxury car as opposed to being crammed into a compact, or wearing shoes that fit after wearing sneakers 2 sizes too small. If you have smaller fingers, this may not be a good option for you, but if you have big mitts and have struggled to fret an A chord properly with three fingers, give this a try. The on board tuner is one of the best I have seen as well.

I have had many guitars and quite a few acoustics but I went in yesterday looking for a specific "sound." I played literally every acoustic in the room and even some out of my price range just to try and kept going back to this one. I love the sound. It is warm like an acoustic should be with just enough bright sound on the high side. I have played every song I know and started learning some others just for a reason to play it.

Just a beginner - first bought a lower end Breedlove that sounded just fine to my untrained ear. However, after messing around with it I didn't have buyers remorse, but needed buyer confirmation. So I went back and compared to the Big Baby, Yamaha A1 and this Alvarez. The tone of the Alvarez was so much richer even my untrained ear could hear it with just an E minor cord. Immediately swapped it out and then a day later found a lower price online that GC matched gladly so not only did I get a guitar I know I will love ended up saving some real $$ in the process finding a price match in an online retailer! Not to mention the cut away and finish make it a great looking guitar
