Nice home practice keyboard for the price (76 key model)
Since I use my professional keys on the road, I needed a practice piano that I can use in our apartment. This product was a great price (has 76 keys - not weighted but touch sensitive) and has a lot of the nice similar Yamaha Sounds and effects from their other series of keyboards. For the novice, it can teach you and help you learn quickly. (auto-chord, rhythms, lessons, layers and splits too). Yamaha has always offered value and this one packs a lot of nice features at a great price. I would recommend this to someone that wants an entry level piano with a lot more.

the black keys ruin this keyboard
Everything about this keyboard is great....except for the black keys. They are difficult to press because theyre narrow and rounded on top. Otherwise this keyboard is great, great sound, keys have perfect amount of resistance. I threw away the box so I couldnt return it, such a shame.

I expected better, but it's pretty great. The only thing that bugged me is sometimes there is something that sounds off….but it might be because I don't have a piano sustainer yet. I got this because it was the most recommended by price and quality for a beginner and I agree.

I love the sound of this Yamaha! After playing numerous keyboards at the store, settled on this one because of the affordability combined with the beautiful sound, and I absolutely love it! It is lightweight enough to carry with me as well. Great Piano!

I'm new to keys so take my comments with that perspective in mind. I think the sound quality through the built-in speakers is good enough for practice but not loud enough with even an acoustic guitar. The sound quality through headphones is excellent. I haven't had the time explore all of the available functions of the keyboard. Touch sensitivity and sound quality were my minimum requirements. There are an incredible number of voices on this keyboard. I'm really only interested in the piano voices. A few of the other voices might get used later after I gain some proficiency on keyboard. Overall I think it's a very good choice for beginners and the price is very reasonable.

Does this keyboard have any kind of velocity sensitivity?
The PSR has touch sensative keys --------------- Touch sensitivity is designed to replicate how you would play on an acoustic piano. When you press the key harder, the hammer will strike the string with more force, creating a bigger, louder sound.submitteda year ago
