The new Fender effects pedals will add brilliant color to both your tone and your pedalboard. Concepted and designed in California, these pedals boast anodized aluminum chassis and offer unique twists on classic effects. Fender used the recognizable LED amp jewel for the “on-light” and used LED backlit knobs, making these pedals stage-ready for the gigging musician. Where these pedals really excel is in huge tone and versatility of control. Check out the videos below to hear these exciting new pedals from Fender.
Santa Ana Overdrive
The Santa Ana Overdrive is created using classic FET technology, which will give players a warm tube-like drive. With dual voices, 3-Band EQ and Presence controls, and an onboard boost, you can rest assured you’ll have endless tone possibilities at your fingertips. This pedal is “true bypass,” which means your signal will go directly to the amp unaffected when the pedal is turned off.
Pugilist Distortion
Next up is the Pugilist Distortion. With dual gain engines, this is the perfect pedal for the player who likes to experiment. You can not only blend the two gain engines, but feed one into the other. Each channel gets its own tone and gain controls. Kick in the Bass Boost toggle and you can really fill in the low end of this beefy distortion.
Mirror Image Delay
The Mirror Image Delay provides digital, analog and tape voiced delay effects. Controls include depth, rate, the option for adding dotted eighth notes, and even a Dry Kill so you can use this pedal within your favorite amp’s effects loop.
Marine Layer Reverb
Get hall, room and special reverb tones, like Shimmer, with the Marine Layer Reverb. Controls include pre-delay, reverb time, damping and the Dry Kill for effects loops. Tweak your reverb to your heart’s desire with the wet/dry mix controls and the mood-changing filter toggle.
The Bends Compressor
Compression is quickly becoming a staple on the modern player’s board. With The Bends Compressor, you can use the drive and recovery knobs to tame harsh notes while keeping the personality of your picking techniques intact. The LED amp jewel will even change color when the recovery kicks in to let you know.
Level Set Buffer
The Level Set Buffer is the perfect pedal to counter balance signal issues and frequency issues within your rig. It will strengthen your signal when running through long cabling or a pedalboard with multiple pedals on it. The hi-frequency control will help enhance warmth in bright pickups and add brightness to dull-sounding pickups. This pedal also has a mute footswitch for silent tuning on stage or in the studio.
