Sticky Keys

The keys on my keyboard have started to stick. How do I fix this?

Having a sticky key that won’t rise properly, or rises up slowly can certainly be frustrating. You might try gently moving the key from side to side being very careful not to break the key. This may help reposition the key guide bar underneath the key. Keys that are sticky and/or slow can sometimes be caused by bent key guide bars. Key guide bars typically get bent when a key is hit at an angle or something has been dropped on it. In these situations, I always recommend that a qualified technician evaluate the key bed to properly diagnose the problem. Many times, the culprit of a sticky key can be narrowed down to a cold beverage spill.
