Fantastic Mixer!
This mixer is fantastic! High quality controls and finish, the sound is superb. I bought another brand (I wont mention it but it starts with a 'B'), and it burnt itself in 5 minutes. This mixer is all you need if you're either experimenting or playing in bars with your band, I highly recommend it. The guitar center staff is really knowledgeable and will let you pick whatever your heart desires, but this is a no-brainer. Unless you need some fancy features, this is definitely the entry level mixer to get. I love it!

Clean but it gets HOT
With the pandemic it became clear I needed to up my video conferencing gear. Being mostly an acoustic player with vocals and a second guitar and vocalist, I wanted to be able to handle at least 4 mics. This mixer got great reviews. The sound is very clean. That's what I wanted. What I didn't like was how hot the back of the unit would get. I measured 115 degrees with a digital thermometer. Heat is not a friend to solid state devices. Computers too. It really bugged me. I have the mixer sitting on top of a metal riser used for computer monitors. The riser is perforated and sits 6" above my desk. There is plenty of air around the mixer. This is my second unit. I returned the first because of the same issue. No one at the store had heard of the heat issue with this mixer. Previously is had a Allen & Heath mixer that was pretty good. It never got hot. After seeing this happen, I would now guess this heating up of the mixer is a common issue with it. It makes me question the longevity of the mixer. How long can it go before the heat begins to affect the internal parts? Something will eventually fry.

Trouble with VU Meter-lights are not working

fromNashville, TN
I've had this mixer for three years so it's out of warranty. I've used it less than a dozen times and it has always been stored in original packaging. The meter lights don't work no matter the gain settings. This is the second Yamaha mixer that has failed me in this way. Disappointing.

I have used or tried multiple mixer, because of the price compared to harbinger or phynex mixers, I delayed in buying this. But then I got a good deal and finally bought it. It is a great mixer, I use it for karaoke nights and DJ. Good one for small group.
Best for the price

While mainly used for home recording, it is tempting to use for small karaoke gigs. Currently I use this for more gain and run the mics to my old Lexicon Omega interface. It works great!

I need a mixer that I can plug my laptop to it and come through a amp or another line to go to a main mixing board
You can do that. I don't know what laptop you refer to but I guess it doesn't have 1/4" or RCA outputs. That is what's needed for the inputs. You will need adaptors depending what your laptop has.submitted8 months ago

I want to use this with Harbinger 900mls speakers. What do I need for cables?
If you need a balanced signal, you'll need something like the "Livewire Elite Quad XLR Microphone Cable". You can also use 1/4" to 14" cable.submitted4 years ago
