The Taylor 614ce Special-Edition Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar offers a new voice and updated version on what players may know as the traditional maple sound. Taylor's 600 series was revoiced by Andy Powers to generate more warmth, depth and openness. Crafted with solid Big Leaf maple back and sides and a torrefied Sitka spruce top, the Taylor 614ce Grand Auditorium takes a boost from the V-Class bracing inside to add volume and sustain and complement the torrefied top with extra sweetness and depth.
The result is a guitar with a highly player-reflective sound—one that showcases the unique stylistic and technical expression of each individual player. To compliment the incredible sound, this 614ce Special Edition boasts a pronounced gloss finish, adorned with a green abalone rosette, mother-of-pearl Taylor logo, a twisted oval finger inlay pattern, and gold tuning machines.

Because the pickup doesn't sit under the saddle, the bottom of the saddle comes in full contact with the bridge, allowing all the nuance of the guitar's tone to come through clearly, whether playing acoustically or plugged in. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured while playing plugged in.
