32-bit Float Recording

The FR-AV2's 32-bit float recording provides an expansive dynamic range to capture both subtle details and loud peaks without distortion. You'll never miss a take due to clipping again. The dual ADCs give you flexible, independent level control over inputs 1 and 2 so you can optimize gain for different sound sources.

Premium Microphone Preamps

The FR-AV2 features Ultra HDDA microphone preamps to provide a clean signal path for your external mics. With an ultralow noise floor of -127dBu, these preamps allow microphones to perform at their best. The XLR/TRS combo jacks accept a variety of balanced and unbalanced connections from microphones, wireless systems and line-level devices. A 3.5 mm stereo input also supports microphones, wireless lavaliers or ambient room mics.

Generate and Sync Timecode

The FR-AV2 generates its own timecode for syncing with DSLR and video cameras. It also supports timecode jam sync to lock with an external timecode generator. If using an Atomos monitor/recorder, you can even wirelessly sync timecode to the FR-AV2 via Bluetooth using the AK-BT2 adapter. Timecode sync ensures your high-quality audio remains perfectly aligned with your video during editing and post-production.

Wireless Monitoring and Control

Add the AK-BT2 Bluetooth adapter to enable wireless monitoring of your FR-AV2. Choose between three connectivity modes for the best balance of latency, range and audio quality. Two people can monitor wirelessly at a time. The free TASCAM Recorder Connect app also provides wireless control of the FR-AV2 and syncing of multiple units so you can manage all your audio from one interface.
