Sony MZ-M200 Hi-MD Recorder

I [purchased the Sony MZM-200, many months ago & didn't realize, what a complex piece of fantastic quality,I had,but after using it for months,I've discovered just how great this item is. It is able to do more than my 2 component decks can do, combined. Using 1gb discs, one can record an entire music collection at quality, not found in Ipods or other mp3players. This recorder/player gives one the hi fidelity that ipods can't even get close to. It is also made of aircraft aluminum & steel from top to bottom & lets a musician, record what they need to, effortlessly. It runs on a lithium-ion battery that can be recharged as much as needed. This is a top shelf item & I highly recomend it to anyone who loves high quality,great sounding music.Anyone would love this minidisc player.

I recently purchased the Sony mzm200 HI-MD recorder/player & it is fantastic. However, in the manual, they show 2 optical digital cords as accessories, but I can't find these cables anywhere.If I could get my hands on these cables, it would make a near perfect product, completely perfect. Otherwise, this is a great product. It's a shame Sony discontinued the mini disc format to compete with i-pods. Mini discs sound much better & one can record anywhere, instead of just the computer. I heard that this model is a very perfect hi-md walkman.. They now got mac inside sonicstage to bring very convience to the hi-md fans out there, uploading and downloading of a songs made easy.. compare from the 1st generation or hi-md....However it be much better if the MZM-200 also did include external AA size battery.. That will last for several hours of playback time... Currently i was having a hi-md walkman mz-nhf800 with fm tuner radio remote..My previous old md walkman, mz-n10 & mz-r900 are still good in condition...I would like to buy this model, but can't be no where be found in singapore..They said that the minidisc are forever DEAD!!!..I was upset that the sony singapore don't know about this latest model.. So When will singapore want to launch new hi-md walkman model mz-rh1,MZM-200?.. it's been so slient for quite some time ago..

MZ-M200 is a fine example of craftsmanship. Build is metal, top to bottom. Identical to the MZ-RH1, this includes a powered stereo "T-mic". Being a musician, I have made multiple recordings on legacy MD SP mode using a deck, mixer, mic, etc. This unit can record SP,LP2,LP4,Hi-SP,Hi-LP, MP3, PCM. All bases are covered including uploading to PC or Mac. I feel odd rating a product all 5's, but I feel it is justified considering what I'm using it for, present & future. Compared to my MD deck, It has so many additional features. In PCM mode, lossless samples can be recorded. Ideas can be captured instantly when you have a riff that pops in your head at 3am. G-protection is Sony's leading anti-skip so listening while running caused no interruptions. Can be used as a voice recorder with pitch control for weddings & lectures. Used as music source when DJ at party. Data can be stored on discs such as music sheets, photos of equipment, instruction manuals, cover art, etc. Live recordings on this unit sound great. Organic display is cutting edge. I am very pleased.
