Description
The OB-6 is an analog synthesizer that offers seemingly endless possibilities for creative sound design. Designed by Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim, two pioneers of analog synthesis, the OB-6 provides six discrete analog voices, each with two oscillators and a variety of waveshapes for a wide range of tones. Its 64-step polyphonic sequencer allows you to program intricate melodic patterns and basslines. Dual digital effects, including a phase shifter and ring modulator, can transform your sounds into something entirely new. With its semi-weighted 49-key keyboard with aftertouch, the OB-6 is also ideal for expressive playing. Two oscillators per voice generate triangle, sawtooth and pulse waves with variable width for rich, complex sounds. The mixer section gives you control over levels, panning and detune per voice for massive, detuned pads and leads.
Shape Your Sounds With a Powerful Filter Section
The OB-6's state-variable filter, inspired by Oberheim's original SEM filter, can make dramatic changes to your sounds. Adjustable cutoff frequency, resonance, envelope amount and overload allow you to create filtering effects from subtle to extreme. The filter self-oscillates at high resonance settings, enabling you to generate additional tones.
An Arpeggiator and Sequencer for Endless Inspiration
With its built-in arpeggiator and sequencer, the OB-6 makes it easy to create rhythmic patterns and basslines. The arpeggiator features 10 different modes for arpeggiating your chords. The 64-step polyphonic sequencer allows you to program up to six simultaneous sequences for evolving, intricate compositions.
Iconic Effects for Unique Tones
The OB-6 includes digital recreations of two of Tom Oberheim's most acclaimed effects: a phase shifter and ring modulator. Add subtle modulation or totally transformative effects to your sounds. Control the phase shifter's frequency and depth or adjust the ring modulator's frequency and mix level for a range of effects from metallic and clangorous to bell-like.
