The Sela Melody Handpan D Amara SE221 With Bag ushers musicians and sound explorers into a realm of ethereal tones and rhythms. Crafted from corrosion-resistant nitrided steel, this handpan's twin bowls have been meticulously hand-hammered into a precisely tuned nine-note scale in the key of D Amara. At the heart of the instrument, a central D3 tone radiates out through complementary pitches spanning over two octaves. The handpan's ergonomic form invites creativity, with a gently rounded surface that fits comfortably in the lap or hands. From meditative drones to intricate rhythmic sequences, the versatile Sela Melody Handpan inspires sonic journeys limited only by the player's imagination. This handcrafted instrument comes complete with a padded nylon backpack for convenient transport to any place inspiration may strike.

A Soulful Array of Harmonic Tones

The Sela Melody Handpan produces a selection of resonant pitches that evoke a sense of peace and calm. Notes ring clearly with sustain, ranging from a low D3 up to a high C5. Arranged in a circular formation around the central D tone, the eight surrounding notes—A3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4 and C5—create harmonious chords and arpeggios. Melodies emerge and rhythms form almost effortlessly from the handpan's intuitive layout.

Built to Withstand a Lifetime of Playing

Sela Melody handpans are crafted for longevity from 2 mm-thick nitrided steel, a material renowned for strength and corrosion resistance. The metal's durable surface finish maintains its sleek matte black appearance even after years of use. Hidden beneath the handpan's tough exterior, delicate hammering has shaped each bowl into a finely tuned musical instrument capable of producing tuneful tones for generations.

Find Your Sound with a Padded Backpack

The included padded nylon backpack provides a comfortable way to transport the 7.5 lb Sela Melody Handpan. With padded straps and grab handles, the backpack makes the handpan easily portable to share its unique sound at events, in nature or wherever musical adventure calls. The backpack's dual zippered pouches offer storage for mallets, spare drumsticks or other accessories, keeping everything needed for playing the handpan conveniently at hand.
