Excellent Value for Beginner
My brother picked this up for my niece. I put it through my rig this weekend and it sounded just fine and played very, very well. Surprised me, actually. Nice slim, fast neck. Action and setup very, very good. Basses 2 or 3 times the price are not this good. I don't know how long it would hold up over time, but it is a very good value for the beginner to early intermediate stages of learning. Most importantly, I think that its action and playability are very good and so the beginner wouldn't get discouraged struggling with poor action. Take a look if you're starting out, or you're on SuperTight budget and would like to have a inexpensive backup at the ready. Well done, Rogue.

Good bass for a beginner
So i just started playing the bass about a month or two ago and this is the bass i decided to pick up for myself, two hours away from the closest guitar center and no local music shops i was forced to window shop online and not really try out any thing. Which was not really a big deal cause i didn't know how to play the bass to begin with so i just needed a fairly cheap bass to start learning with, Well ive had this bass for about two month's i guess or atleast close to it. Immediately it started pretty much falling apart the strap holders were popping out the sound started going in and out with the pick up's etc. So thats why i say this bass is a good bass for a beginner, if you are looking for something cheap just to learn on and not really care if its bad or not get this bass im pretty sure the one i got was just a dud but who knows. But still good beginner bass for beginners like me, im catching on to the bass pretty quickly though since ive been playing the normal acoustic and electric guitar for 7 years so soon i plan on making that two hour trip to the nearest guitar center and picking up a better quality bass.

This was my first bass so going in I knew very little about what I should get, and given the fact I can't easy go to an actual store I got what was cheap to dip my toes in. Since then it's been almost a year and I've fallen in love with bass as an instrument however, after playing quite frequently and grabbing a Squier of pretty similar price, I regret buying this one at all. The feel and sound of this bass is passable and as someone learning it did the job but there are better basses for the price. All of that to say I'm giving this bass to a friend who's thinking about picking up bass, and ideally if they wish to pursue it they'll get a finer instrument to suit them once they've outgrown this one as I have. I will note, despite my gripes the neck felt pretty good and the frets weren't sharp at all, so good on them for quality control.
Beginner bass at best

Ok for a starter bass but I would spend a few more $ and get a better quality bass. Like all guitars plan on having a basic setup done. Also the fret ends have to be be manicured. I got a small cut from a sharp one. I wasn't expecting a lot from the price point but overall it underachieved. Poor QC. New bass and finish chipping, saddle screws stripped out from the factory and tone knob bent. QC improvements from the factory and this bass would not be to bad for a beginner.
I plan on buying soon again the Rogue LX200B in Pearl Black.

The price was right and the bass was perfect right out of the box no set up required. I use it for laying down basslines to my written original material ( music ) and it sounds great. I was surprised how good the quality of this bass was at such a low price and I got it on sale also too.
Good Quality for the Price!

I am a beginner and this bass sounds great. I didn't experience any fret buzz when I played it. I totally recommend this to fellow beginners.

I just bought this guitar for my son. I need a case to go with it, but don't know what case it will fit in. Any suggestions on what we should get. He is 10 and is going to use it for school band .
This bass would be compatible with any standard electric bass case or gig bag. The Road Runner Avenue II Electric Bass Gig Bag would be a good choice.submitted5 years ago

So I also asked this question about a similar bass, but it had five strings. So I would also like to know if this 4 string would also play rock and metal since I am just starting to play bass l.
Absolutly. The pickup configuration, a PJ configuration, is known for it's punch. With a little bit of EQ it will do fine for about anything.submitted5 years ago

Does this bass have a narrow neck like a jazz bass or a wider neck like a precision bass. Being that I am a disabled veteran, I have a problem playing a wider neck like a precision bass.
This will have a thinner jazz bass type necksubmitted6 years ago
