Description
The M1620 Pro-D converter from RME lets you seamlessly integrate analog and digital audio within your studio or live setup. With 16 balanced analog inputs and 8 analog outputs, this 1U rack device offers comprehensive I/O conversion between analog, ADAT, MADI and Dante formats. Designed for reliability, the M1620 Pro-D features dual network ports, dual MADI connectors and an internal universal power supply with DC input.
Flexible Connectivity for Any Setup
With the M1620 Pro-D, you can connect a variety of analog and digital audio gear. The 16 balanced analog inputs accept line-level signals up to +24dBu, perfect for mixing consoles, preamps and instrument outputs. Eight analog outputs offer playback routing. ADAT optical I/O provides up to 16 channels for digital consoles and interfaces. Coaxial and optical MADI ports link to MADI-equipped gear like broadcast equipment. The Dante model adds 64x64 Dante audio networking over Ethernet.
Redundancy for Reliable Performance
RME built redundancy into the M1620 Pro-D so you can rely on it for critical live shows or studio sessions. Dual power supplies, including a DC input, ensure the converter stays on even if one power source fails. Dual network ports and MADI connections provide backup data paths in case a cable or port goes down. An intuitive front panel display clearly indicates the unit's status so you know it's functioning properly at a glance.
Pristine Conversion With Advanced Clocking
High-end converters and RME's renowned SteadyClock FS technology give the M1620 Pro-D outstanding audio quality. SteadyClock reduces jitter on digital inputs for clear, accurate sound. Manually selectable aliasing filters let you optimize the impulse and frequency response. Separate word clock input and output, along with MADI I/O, make the M1620 Pro-D easy to sync with other digital gear for a cohesive system.
Convenient Monitoring and Control
The M1620 Pro-D provides monitoring directly from its front panel. Two separate headphone jacks allow two people to listen at once. Bright LED level meters show input and output levels at a glance. An intuitive front panel display and navigation buttons let you adjust settings without needing a computer. A USB port and Ethernet-based API offer remote control from a laptop or digital console. With comprehensive I/O, solid reliability and an easy-to-use design, the M1620 Pro-D handles critical conversion in any studio or live production.
