Description
The Orange Amplifiers Crush 20RT combo amplifier delivers massive tone and functionality in a compact, gig-ready design. Boasting 20W of power pushed through a Custom 8" Voice of the World speaker, this amp serves up punchy cleans and saturated overdrive with rich harmonic content. Its four-stage preamp provides a wide tonal palette spanning vintage warmth to modern aggression. Two channels—clean and dirty—give guitarists a wealth of sound. Onboard reverb offers expansive ambiance, while the built-in tuner provides convenient pitch accuracy. Orange's CabSim technology emulates the sound of a 4x12 cabinet for full tone through headphones. For practice or performance, the Crush 20RT portable powerhouse brings legendary Orange tone and innovative features to guitarists everywhere.
Four-Stage Preamp Delivers Vintage to Modern Overdrive
The Crush 20RT's preamp supplies a huge range of overdriven and distorted tones. From warm, organic breakup to tight modern saturation, this amp covers the gamut of overdriven tones. Shape your sound with the gain and volume controls to achieve anything from a hint of grit to full-on distortion. The clean channel provides a solid foundation for pedals, while the dirty channel stands on its own for high-gain applications.
Onboard Reverb and Tuner Expand the Crush 20RT's Capabilities
Lush digital reverb lets you craft ambient soundscapes and add dimension to your tone. Adjust the reverb control to add a subtle hint of space or wash your sound in cavernous halls. The built-in tuner allows for quick and accurate tuning, ideal for live performance or practice.
CabSim Provides Massive Tone for Silent Practice
Orange's CabSim technology digitally emulates the sound of a 4x12 guitar cabinet. Engage the CabSim and plug headphones into the amp's headphone jack to achieve full, authentic Orange tone without making a sound. CabSim is perfect for silent practice at home, in the studio, or backstage before a show.

Un. Freakin. Believable.
I assure you I do not work for Orange, I'm not that lucky. I won't go on about everything I didn't like about all the practice amps I tried out in the roughly 200 to 400 dollar range but I will say that they all lacked something. Overall, the tube driven amps had good tone, but lacked key features like a good speaker, reverb, or they were only good for 1 genre. Of course, modeling amps have features galore but, no surprise, sound cold and digital. I knew almost immediately the Orange nailed it. Exceptional tone, versatile, quality speaker, reverb, simple layout. As a 'tube guy' myself, I can't say enough about the tones this thing puts out. It's solid state but it has an all analogue signal path so it has a very warm, clear character that is very much alive, light years beyond generic, lifeless digital amps. I know what a high end Orange amp sounds like and this thing gets so close, comparing them would be just splitting hairs. Cleans are full and lush across the spectrum from warm and jazzy to bright and jangly. The Dirty channel is just astounding. This is where you get that classic, stinging yet warm, hairy yet smooth, Orange crunch. From chunky and biting to full on nasty, this amp will cover blues, jazz, classic rock, rock, and modern metal more than gracefully. And, considering those are all the styles I play, this amp is a match made in heaven for me. The 3 band EQ is very, very responsive which makes this amp capable of a vast amount of tones. The reverb is a surprisingly great addition. It adds dimension and space, it does not color or wash out your tone. For the most part, it's fairly subtle until you get to about 2 o clock. The speaker is perfection. I still can't believe it's only 8 inches. This amp does not sound its size, I promise you that. If you've never heard 1 of these 'Voice of the World' speakers before, you're in for a treat. Obviously this is not an amp for band practice or gigging, but I see no reason you couldn't line out from the headphone jack direct to a PA. On that note, the jack simulates a 4x12 cab, quite nicely if you ask me. I've already done some recording with it that way and it sounds fabulous. The onboard tuner works great, though it's not super accurate it does do the trick if you're just sitting by yourself jamming. Lastly, I love, love , love how simple this amp is. While so many amp makers are going overboard cramming every effect and amp model known to man in tiny spaces, Orange gives you a clean and dirty channel with an excellent EQ for tone shaping so you can focus on playing your instrument, not how closely does it simulate a Tweed or JCM. That's a waste of time as I've owned both and only those amps truly sound like those amps. Orange sounds like Orange, they don't try to be anything else and that's what I love most about them. Go try this amp!!

Flat, boxy sound, poor usability. Not recommended
This is my first Orange amp and I had higher expectations for it. SOUND QUALITY: I've only played fenders amps before this so I was so used to the open, atmospheric sound of those amps, especially on clean. However this amp has a distinct boxy sound, almost as if its being muffled, like you're playing through an old radio instead of an amp. I think this is due to the fact that this is a closed back amp so all that sound has nowhere to go but out the front and in turn, it ends up sounding boxy. The bass isn't that strong at all. Turned all the way up, it just barely makes the sound dynamic. Even with the bass all the way up and reverb halfway up, it still sounds flat. The gain channel on the dirty channel is basically useless until at least halfway. Anything before that just sounds clean unless you're absolutely thrashing your guitar. All that being said, it does seem to have that classic crunchy, overdriven Orange sound. I just wish it sounded more dynamic. Clean channel is sparkly. CONSTRUCTION: I will say despite its sound quality drawbacks, this is a very well made amp. Good heavy construction for being made in China. As I stated before, it's a closed back design. t's a pretty solid amp and looks great USABILITY: the controls being on top and set to the back are pretty annoying from a usability standpoint. I have mine on top of my fender amp so it sits a little higher. The problem is the dots on the knobs and the setting those dials are set to are blocked by the knob itself (see picture). I have to constantly hover my head over the top of the amp to see where the dial is set, which means I need to get up even if I'm sitting right in front of the amp. Fender amps make a lot more sense as far as knob placement. They are all displayed on the front, facing you so you always know your settings with a quick glance from across the room. The knob placement on this Orange also means you would never be able to stack amps on top of this.

Good sound. Love the ability to switch channels and built in tuner, which makes it easy to tune even if someone else is playing at the time. The built-in reverb is good as well - I don't use it a lot but it's nice to have. #sweepstakes

Die hard tube guy for decades and then I picked up a Super Crush 100 for a good deal a few months ago. That amp 100% changed my mind about solid state amps. I wanted a smaller amp that could get similar tones without blowing my neighbors house into the river. Enter the Crush 20. Sounds great at low volume as well as high volume. Separate footswitchable channels. Reverb. The crush 20 ticks a lot of boxes and has a permanent spot next to the couch.
Well worth the money

I wanted a small amp that was easy to move around so I wouldn't be stuck having to lug around my 50 pound EVH 5150 15 watt. I already knew from Youtube videos that this amp produces and a nice and warm clean tone. While it's great for jazz and blues practice I also play heavy metal style music and was pleasantly surprised how well this little amp handled a Boss Metal Zone right up front. (There is no FX loop) It sounds great for any genre and even metal with a little nudge from the pedal it sounds great. Class leading this little amp is worth the money. I would definitely recommend checking this amp out. Just be sure to have an overdrive for the dirty channel or a distortion pedal for the clean channel if you want heavy music.
Really surprised me

This amp really surprised me. I bought it on a lark to have a true "grab-and-go" practice amp that does not need an app, bluetooth connections, etc. It does all that, but really it sounds very good for its size, is certainly loud enough for most practice and jamming uses and is just overall very handy.

Got this amp as I was upgrading from the pocket amps I was previously using. Fire right up has a built in tuner and a headphone jack to save my wife's ears
