Open Box TAMA Superstar Classic 5-Piece Shell Pack Level 1 Coffee Fade

Description
TAMA's Superstar Classic 5-piece shell pack fuses the sought-after tone of all-maple shells with forward-thinking design. The 100% maple shells—six plies for the toms and snare, seven for the bass drum—deliver an articulate tone with punchy attack and focused low end. TAMA's ingenious Star-Mount system attaches each tom via a single bolt, allowing the shells to resonate freely for maximum sustain and projection.
All-Maple Shells Provide a Crisp, Modern Voice
The Superstar Classic's all-maple shells offer a blend of warmth, sensitivity and cutting power that suits any musical style. Their thinner 6- and 7-ply construction makes the shells highly responsive, excelling at fast, intricate playing. The maple's dense grain also helps focus the low end for a tight, controlled kick drum sound with serious thump.
Star-Mount System Boosts Resonance
Tama's revolutionary Star-Mount attaches each tom to its stand with a single bolt, allowing the shell to vibrate freely. The result is a lively, resonant tone with outstanding sustain and projection. The Star-Mount's minimal contact area also makes the Superstar Classic highly portable without sacrificing stability.
Retro Styling With Modern Playability
A streamlined take on '70s drum design, the Superstar Classic features TAMA's iconic T-shaped badge, low-mass lugs and triple-flanged hoops. Its bass drum spurs and floor tom legs are independently height-adjustable for precision tuning and easy positioning. A full complement of drum sizes offers maximum versatility for live shows and recording.
Professional Performance at an Affordable Price
With high-quality, all-maple shells, innovative hardware and a versatile configuration, the Superstar Classic 5-piece shell pack delivers professional features at a price point suited for drummers on a budget. Experience TAMA's signature tone and rock-solid performance for yourself.

I have had no problems as others i have read. I changed the heads including the bass to remo and kit sounds really good. It changed the sound to a hi dollar kit for about $700.00 I'm a advanced drummer and don't find a need to spend much much more. The cymbals are key as well which I use Zildjian A's. Burch wood is not bad...happy drumming...

This thing is horrible. I bought this from guitar center a few months ago during a sale. It was 200$ off. They shipped it to my house and immediately after setting it up I realized it's as bad as my old swingstar if not worse. The bearing edge on the floor Tom was completely warped right out of the box. I tried putting on an Evans ec2 drum head and when I went to tighten the tension rods I couldn't tighten two of them because of the warping. It sounds like complete garbage too, the only drum that would acceptable is the snare. After throwing on an Evans heavyweight head and some pure sound snare wires, there are plenty of good drum sets out there for the price. Personally I would go with a Yamaha stage custom or if you wanted to save up some more a crush drum set. I would say buying used is your best option. You get more for less money. Luckily I paid for the warranty to get it fixed. I love Tamas hardware but there drums are horrible. Please save your money.
Good tones for jazz, small drums for rock

Switching to drums for a while so I picked up this kit as the craftsmanship was top notch. My regrets for someone playing in a rock band was to get larger drums. 8", 10" and 14" toms were on the small side, great tones but lack that depth... I will be adding a 12" and 16" toms to round out my sound along with some Remo and/or Evans 2 ply heads which should help. The Kick is Thumpy and snare is average for this price range

Can a 14x14 floor Tom or another size floor Tom be added to this kit in the same coffee fade finish?
