Take your guitar to the center of the earth. By combining a large ceramic magnet with custom winding specs, the Nazgûl offers the perfect blend of note articulation, saturation and one of the most brutal "chugs" you’ll ever hear from a humbucker. It has incredible harmonic content across all frequency ranges, and an insanely tight bass response. The Nazgûl has a seriously aggressive high gain sound that is lively, yet completely controllable. And, on clean amp settings, it still knows how to behave and give you those clear, bell-like tones when you need them.

The Nazgûl was originally designed specifically for 7 and 8-string guitars, with the goal of delivering the perfect modern metal pickup for low tunings for extended range instruments under high gain. The Nazgûl has since erupted from the depths, and become a favorite among 6-, 7- and 8-string guitarists; serving players whose styles range from hard rock to progressive metal and everything in between.

Hand built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the Nazgûl high-output humbucker pickups use a large ceramic bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and are vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. Forged to fathom the deepest of metal tunings, the Nazgûl high-output humbucker pickup’s searing highs, grinding mids and tight bass define the sound of modern metal.

I've used Seymour Duncan pickups for a long time, and the Nazgul is definitely a pickup that doesn't disappoint. For extreme metal players, this is a great option if you want an aggressive bite and gnarly pick attack. The EQ of the pickup keeps it from getting muddy in low tunings, with the right amount of bass and mids to still get you a heavy, angry tone while the treble gives it that signature aggressive bite.

I did massive amounts of research before purchasing these pickups. I wanted to find the perfect pickups for my Ibanez (RG series) and these were just perfect the moment I installed them! They are very hot and sound great under tons of high gain. They have a very tight and pronounced low end that doesn't leave your tone sounding all muddy, which makes these perfect for down tuned metal. These pickups deliver tons of clarity and bite so you will never lose note definition and always sound aggressive. My favorite feature of the Nazguls however is the mid range on these bad boys. I personally hate scooping my kids and these things have loads of midrange, but they won't leave your tone sounding too honky. It's just perfect the perfect amount to cut through any mix and make your guitar sound thick and juicy. I would have to say the only con is they aren't too great for cleans but I'm pretty sure if you rolled off on the volume knob and tweaked your amp settings you could find a reasonably good clean tone. However that is irrelevant IMO since these pickups are designed to deliver the heaviest and most aggressive of metal tones known to man.
