Sennheiser - The Future of Audio

Description
The XS 1 features balanced, full-bodied sound with a slight emphasis on the treble, which ensures that vocals will easily cut through the mix on stage. Its cardioid pick-up pattern provides additional isolation from unwanted sound and great feedback rejection. The capsule is shock-mounted to minimize handling noise, while the mic’s frequency response filters out any structure-borne low-frequency noise.
The XS 1 provides great ease of use, with a silent Mute switch that puts users in full control of their sound transmission. Whenever the switch is not needed, it can be securely locked in the “On” position. With an all-metal body and a hardened sound inlet basket to protect its capsule, this mic is suitable for any environment.

This is a great, budget priced, mic. Works well for singing voices. Bought two of the same model some months ago, and when the need arises to add another voice, this mic was the obvious best choice.

So I use this mic for when I'm streaming my djing on Twitch and Youtube. I have the mic plugged into an XLR port on my Pioneer DDJ-SX2 and have the SX2 running to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Audio Interface connected to my streaming computer. The setup works create and you can hear me very well on the stream over the music and along side the music. I wouldn't hesitate to use this at a wedding or at a live music event for speaking or singing, etc. The mic feels durable and is a steal at this price. I believe it's still a Guitar Center exclusive. The on off switch is perfect and allows me to set down the mic without having to turn down the channel it's on. When I'm ready to say something again I just switch is on and it's still at the perfect volume level. Great mic at a great price! My voice reproductions is great on it as well.. I have a deep bassy voice fyi.

I needed a microphone with and on/off switch for spoken word public address announcements. This mic fit the bill and was reasonably priced. The mic clip is plastic with plastic threads for attaching a microphone stand. It is likely that the plastic threads will strip out in time and a new clip will be required. The mic tone was suitable for spoken word with the note that there is considerable proximity effect, causing an increase in bass response when the mic is held close to a sound source. There is no low frequency roll off switch on the microphone body so a microphone preamp used should have a low shelf equalization to make the microphone useful. Seems to be a good value for the price.

Confirming this is a wired microphone and has attached cord...I have some wireless but we want one wired mic to give to the stationary dj. Sometimes our wireless have issues. Want one connected source. Thanks. Donna (I am not a musician at all, so this may be a silly question, I work with schools as a fundraiser, so my knowledge is quite limited)
Hi Donna! Yes, this is a wired mic. It will use a XLR cable to connect to your speakers.
