Morley

collapse expand iconDescription

The Morley Hum Exterminator is an innovative device that filters out unwanted voltage in the ground line to eliminate irritating ground-loop hum. Simply place the Hum Exterminator on the end of the power cord of gear experiencing ground-loop issues, plug it into the wall outlet and that incessant buzzing is gone—with no signal loss or tone sucking.

Eliminate Ground Loop Hum Without Lifting the Ground

Unlike devices that remove the ground connection altogether, the Morley Hum Exterminator provides a solid, safe ground while filtering out the unwanted voltage and current causing the hum. This means no loss of shielding or shock hazard—just pure, clean power and signal. For guitarists and other musicians, this translates to freedom from distracting noise without sacrificing tone.

A Simple, Foolproof Solution

The Morley Hum Exterminator couldn't be easier to use. Simply plug it in, and the hum disappears. No manual ground lifts, no rewiring, no hassle. It's a plug-and-play solution you can set up in seconds. Completely passive and maintenance-free, the Hum Exterminator draws no power on its own, so it won't drain your gear's batteries or add noise. It's rated for any device drawing 6 A or less, making it suitable for powering a wide range of musical equipment.

Premium Performance and Reliability

As with all Morley products, the Hum Exterminator is built to the highest standards for performance and durability. Entirely crafted in the USA from premium components, it provides years of reliable operation free from signal degradation or loss of effectiveness. For any musician battling the irritation of ground loop hum, the Morley Hum Exterminator offers sweet relief and sonic bliss.

I have a PA system that hums super loud when I have lights on in the room. I took a chance on this and as soon as I plugged it in, COMPLETE SILENCE. Even quieter than than when they aren't humming. Yes it's a little bit pricey but if you want that hum gone, here's the option.

  • It helped identify the source of the issue

I use it at church every Sunday. The guitar player and I (bass) experience the same noise issue, prompting me to seek out this product, which improved substantially the noise but still present. It seems the instruments may be the root of the problem.

  • I'd never buy this again

If the noise is a grounding problem from the amp, than yes. It won't help a pup or cable situation.

This could help with that, but it depends on what's causing the hum. A lot of times an improperly grounded outlet could be the issue, if that's the case this would help with that.

Would this work to get the hum out of an old quirky harmony amp with a 2 prong power cable?
