    I play in a rock/pop cover band at bars, clubs, indoor, outdoor events. I needed a "kickaround" kit for gigs and practice and keep the expensive Pork Pie kit at home...it was getting road-warn. I didn't know what to expect from this Mapex Crossover Rock kit...but WOW was I blown away. I traded out the stock heads for Remo Emperors on toms batter side...left the stock heads on the bottoms. Put a Remo Powerstroke on the kick. They tuned up so fast and sounded great so I took 'em to a gig and I'm so impressed. The kick powered right back at me and boomed through the PA. The drums sounded amazing, felt good to play, and look so cool. I've only had maple and poplar kits prior...these Mars kits are all birch...and man am I impressed. Punchy, bright, round, CLEAN tone. Zero weird wobbles or annoying overtones (maybe that SONIclear thing is real...haha). I would highly recommend. Also, put your favorite snare head on the drum and you'll be happy you did. I'm so glad I got these.

    Overall really good, has great tone, the only problem is that the stock heads are flimsy and needed to he changed.

    A shell pack consists of the wooden "sheels". There is no hardware included.

    This is just the shell pack so it just comes with the drums.
