Not great. Looks pretty and could be played low key in an office.

  • This taught me I was born to play the cajon

I bought this little bad boy from my local Guitar Center and I really like it. Having been a percussionist for 30-plus years, I'm always looking for new additions to my collection. The Meinl mini-cajon doesn't have the sonic range or volume of a full-size cajon, of course, but it's got a snappy little sound that's quite infectious. Because it's small, you can hold and play it any number of ways. I've used it for unwinding at home, playing while strolling around the neighborhood, church music practice sessions, impromptu jams, etc. And here's a tip: the flip side- where the hole is -can be played like an udu drum. It's sturdily built and looks cool just sitting on my living room shelf, though the fact that it's functional is what makes it worth having.
