Keeley

collapse expand iconDescription

The Keeley Super AT Mod Overdrive Effects Pedal captures the magic of the original Modded Blues Driver Phat Mod with the addition of AT Mode. Chord work and harmonies are cleaner and tighter, without reducing gain. Since guitarist Andy Timmons’ early exposure to the Keeley modded stompbox, it’s been virtually glued to his pedalboard.

Asymmetrical Tube Clipping
The Keeley Super AT Mod Overdrive features a return to RK's original clipping style, a classic modification first performed in the Keeley Blues Driver Phat Mod. If you want a drive pedal that responds just like a tube amp, this is it. The topology of the pedal is similar to classic California tube amps, Keeley just simply used JFET transistors in place of tubes. Nothing has been left out, even the filtering of an amp's tone stack is designed into the pedal. It's an amp-in-a-box that was developed by Keeley with the guidance of Andy Timmons.

Tone Switch
There is a new circuit design for the Tone Switch employed in the Keeley Super AT Mod. The AT-mode is voiced for humbuckers and features lower mid-bass frequencies for tighter, more transparent response. The original Keeley PHAT mode stands ready to put more power behind your favorite single-coil-equipped guitar. Either way, the Super AT Mod has got you covered.

This is a fantastic and very responsive pedal, I guess this is one of those pedals that you really need to know what are you going to use it for, I use this pedal to add a little hair to my clean tone, as I have other pedals for chunky rhythm and lead tones, will get another one.

  • For my style I have to say I was disappointed

First, Andy Timmons is a phenomenal player & great tone with his set up. For me I found the pedal had some inherent "Highs" that you couldn't really dial out, so I returned the same day I received it. On my board I have some Great Pedals …. Original King of Tone, Tumnus, Kingtone Soloist, GOT by J Rockette, EP Boost, Marvel 3 Drive & Deep Blue Delay, all which have great flexibility & tones. I wish I could have made it work :-(! American Strat, Lollar PU, Hayes Tubemaster or Fargen Blackbird.
