Durable but...
Great case its durable, its looks great, the gold colored hinges and clamps match my epiphone's accessories. the case is solid and fits my explorer in nicely. the fur coated inside is soft and doesnt scratch or smudge the guitar an amazing buy, BUT when pared with the explorer an already heavy guitar, this case when carrying guitar is brutally heavy and takes a little while to get used to. but hey thats what you wanted when you bought your explorer right?

For the price it's ok!
I needed a case to keep my Explorer in and this fit the bill, and as long as you don't intend to depend on it 100% for transporting and protection it will do just fine especially for just a safe place to store it in at home or just an occasional gig!

When I first received it, I was pretty bummed. My Explorer did not fit. I read the reviews and saw many faced the same issue. However, putting it in point first and PUSHING it into the plush, I was able to make it fit. It was a real tight fit and a pain. Fast forward a week later, this case holds my explorer PERFECTLY. It's snug and easy to put in and take out now. I believe that it just needed a little bit of time to fit the very plushy sides to the guitar itself. I implore you to fit your explorer in the case, and then revisit your thoughts a week later. I'm confident you'll see that your explorer now fits perfectly and is extremely well protected. Had I wrote my review the first night I received it as I had planned, it would've been an extremely scathing review. The only wish I had was that it was a combo lock like my Gibson
Thick, good padding, does the job

I have an Epiphone case for a LTD phoenix and knew that these cases tend to be thick but well supported, and the explorer version is no different. Interestingly enough, as others have said, it is a tight/snug fit for Epiphone own explorers! I have the goth 58 explorer and you almost forcefully have to put it in. I also have a schecter e1, and that fits a bit easier into it. I feel they would both be secure, but just reverberating what others have said. I don't gig nor travel, they are just used for storage in the house (kids and dogs), but I imagine this case would do the job on that.

Does not really fit the Explorer

I did put my guitar in there but the design for the case doesn't benefit the guitar. The horn of the guitar is really pushing into the case to where the padding is almost ineffective. The case is built good and its a shame that the guitar doesn't really fit this case comfortably.
Doesn't fit.

Meant for an Epiphone Explorer but didn't fit either of mine, I own a Thunderhorse and Ghosthorse models (regular Explorer body and then a 24 fret with access heal). If you push the front horn in you can pull the case slightly to fit the back of the guitar in, but then the neck is about 2-3 inches away from the neck cutout. Well made case, just not made for the right guitar.

Would my New West Creek Explorer " The Revenge" fit into this case? Read many reviews that claim a lot of "Explorers do not fit well in this case? If it does fit, I would like to order this case!!!! Thank-You ; Robert....
I'm sorry but I'm not sure. New West Creek is not not Gibson nor Epiphone. Please see ------------ Coffin Case 300-VXR Universal Extreme Case Black Red.submitteda year ago
