The EVH Striped Series '78 Eruption Electric Guitar combines the rebellious spirit of Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat with modern design and technology. When Van Halen's eponymous debut album was released in 1978, the 22-year-old guitarist revealed an instrument unlike anything seen before—because he built it himself. His Frankenstrat featured a contoured ash body, PAF-style humbucker and distinctive black-and-white striped finish. The Striped Series '78 Eruption pays homage to that revolutionary ax while providing exceptional playability and tone.

A vintage-style Fender synchronized tremolo bridge provides Eddie's classic divebombing and warbling effects. These components are finished in reliced chrome, replicating the Frankenstrat's aged hardware.
