collapse expand iconDescription

The MXR Bass Envelope Filter delivers retro-infused funk tone in an easy-to-use pedal built for bass. The M82 provides classic envelope filter sounds designed specifically for bass guitar. Separate Dry and FX knobs enable you to blend just the right amount of direct and effected signal, so you can bring the funk without losing your low end. Access a wide range of tones with Decay, Q and Sensitivity controls that conform the effect to your instrument and playing style. It can withstands voltage mishaps and features true bypass switching to maintain signal integrity when disengauged. Compact, lightweight aluminum housing maximizes pedalboard real estate. Funk up your bass tone - MXR style.

Tailor Made for Bass

The M82 Bass Envelope Filter was engineered from the ground up for bass guitar, providing autowah effects without compromising your low end. Separate Dry and FX knobs make it easy to blend the perfect ratio of direct and effected bass signal so you can achieve envelope filter tones without losing punch or definition.

Sculpt Your Sound

Shape a wide range of classic envelope filter sounds with intuitive Decay, Q and Sensitivity controls. Decay adjusts the length of the sweep effect, Q controls the bandwidth of the filter, and Sensitivity adapts the pedal's response to your attack and output level for optimized performance with passive or active basses.

Roadworthy and Resilient

The M82 Bass Envelope Filter is built to handle life on the road and in the studio. Rugged, aluminum housing withstands the rigors of transport and stage use. Power supply handles voltage mishaps and reverse polarity connections with ease. True bypass switching maintains signal integrity when the pedal is disengauged.

Compact Pedalboard Real Estate

The MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter's Phase 90-sized enclosure maximizes available pedalboard space. Lightweight, compact construction makes it easy to integrate into even the most densely populated boards.

Good Envelope filter

This is a good pedal to have in your arsenal, probably not a good first. I love the sound of this coupled with either a fuzz, bass octave (M288), ring mod, LPF, etc. The separate fx and dry blend knobs are key, especially if you want that filter wide open, just accentuating the upper frequency response with the Q down. This stomp box can be labled as a "one trick pony" because an envelope filter is a very distict sound. However I rarely turn the Q up past 25% and use it more as a treble booster that sounds "wet." For a live drum and bass act, making subltle changes to the sound of the bass is what its all about, at least for me. By itself I think it sounds like a great envelope, I just wish it had a sweep up/down select. There is an accurate video review on the M82 on Youtube by Uriah Duffy.

Good pedal with some great fx options. The ability to blend the clean vs filter Chanel is a major plus. Would recommend to anyone looking for an envelope filter.

The MXR Bass Innovations M82 Bass Envelope Filter is an immaculately designed pedal that produces an exquisite effect of the highest caliber. I was in search of something to give my bass lines that funky vibe from the era of Parliament and Funkadelic; and, I found it. The M82 is a very powerful tool; once you figure out the proper settings to obtain the sound you're looking for, it's all groovy. Check the MXR web site for the PDF version of the manual that features some basic settings to get you going. Before I figured out how to use this thing, I was ready to return it.

This effects pedal would work with an electric guitar but is recommended for use with basses.
