Digital Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal

MXR M300 Digital Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal

Description
The PLATE setting provides a shimmering smooth wash of space that’s a go-to choice from the studio recording world. SPRING sets a new standard for truly authentic-sounding reverb without coiled metal—a perfect recreation of the classic amp-based effect, with the Tone control taking you from dark vintage amp spring, through classic jangle, to bright surfy splatter. EPIC is a unique combination of multiple interwoven analog-tone delay lines and complex modulation—perfect for solos from that hidden part of the lunar landscape. MOD throws down a plate-flavored spaciousness with richly organic modulation in the feedback path. The ROOM style adds subtle body and projection to your guitar tone at shorter decay times while longer decay times yield rich organic space that doesn’t wash out. PAD closes out the lineup with a unique combination of sub-octave + octave-up with echoes + "shimmer" + synth/organ modulation + reverb.
Connect a Dunlop DVP series volume/expression pedal to the expression jack to toggle and blend between two different knob setting configurations. The Reverb includes 100% wet mode, stereo input and output capability, and true relay or trails bypass.

Amazing reverb with a natural sound
I just bought this pedal today: I was selling some of my old gear and really needed a reverb pedal for a gig coming up. I went in there expecting to just special order a strymon blue cloud, but decided to just test out some reverbs to confirm that that was the one i wanted. I tried the Boss and Hall of Fame, but they just sounded too plastic for me. Then I plugged this one in. TALK ABOUT REAL SOUND. Most natural reverb I've ever played through. Nothing about this reverb seems synthetic at all. On top of that, the shimmer is incredible and totally in tune! Even some of the high end reverbs struggle with thisissue, but the MXR has absolutely no issue with it! Only downside is the fact that normal 9 volt or 12 volt power supplies don't work with it, so if you're like me and run everything out of a power supply, you might need an extension cord for gigs. Other than that: solid pedal with stunning reverb sounds!

1st MXR I didn't like.
It's hard to write reviews of effect pedals, because what I dislike someone else will love. It's also hard to shop for these when your local GC doesn't have a lot of stock of different effect pedals for comparison. That said, I was able to try this out at my local GC store, and I thought I found what I was looking for, which was a reverb pedal that I could use to just thicken my sound up while dialing out most if not all slapback/delay (I am the anti-surf reverb type of player). I thought I was able to dial this in at the store (although I only had access to 3 reverb pedals for comparison). Problem is when I got home the pedal just didn't sound the same, and I couldn't for the life of me dial out the persistent slapback and tinny echo effects like I thought I could at the store. I have an MXR eq pedal which is great, but this one was a backwards K for me. However, this pedal may be exactly what you're looking for.

I will only use 2-3 of the options but you have a choice which I like. As usual solid build. Important consideration. Before I bought this I read many reviews on noise to be exact squealing I got same when I plugged it into my iSpot chained in. Then decided to try the stand alone power supply / problem solved. This is stated in doc with product. Paired it with the MXR compression pedal great sound from my perspective.

I keep adding more and more MXR pedals to my board. I watched a lot of video reviews of this pedal before making this purchase. I am very pleased with the sound and ease of use. I use the Plate setting for an "always on" sound. I like to switch to the Mod setting for clean and subtle playing. The Pad setting is really interesting. I'm really looking forward to finding places where I can utilize this setting.

Sounds great, lots of options/features. If it came with some sample settings it would take much less time to dial it in.
