Ludwig BackBeat Elite 5-Piece Complete Drum Set With 22" Bass Drum, Hardware and Cymbals Midnight Grain

Description
Ludwig’s BackBeat drum set was a hit for giving drummers a rock-solid foundation for their rhythmic aspirations—and the BackBeat Elite complete kit kicks that beloved feature set and quality up a few notches with some updated bells and whistles. From its warm, punchy poplar shells and classic Ludwig aesthetic to its generously sized 14x6.5" chrome-plated steel snare, double-braced hardware and full set of cymbals, it's got everything you need to count off and hit your downbeat with confidence.

A Shell Pack With Great Attack
BackBeat Elite kits come with all-poplar shells featuring woodgrain finishes, thoughtfully complemented with double-ply batter heads, meant to focus in on your attack while emphasizing the satisfying low-fundamental resonance that makes poplar really "pop" in your mix. They sport 45-degree bearing edges, delivering ideal sustain with a flexible tuning range suitable for whatever style you throw at it. The 22x16" bass drum comes ready with pre-muffled heads—a clear batter and coated white for that coveted retro Ludwig look. And juxtaposing perfectly with the low-end oomph of the poplar tom and bass shells is the chrome-plated steel snare, featuring a smooth-moving side throw-style throw-off to engage and disengage your steel snare wires.

Shining, Shimmering, Splendid
No drum set is complete without hi-hat, crash and ride cymbals—and the BackBeat Elite provides the goods with the Wuhan 457 Heavy Metal series. These 457 Heavy Metal series cymbals are designed to slice right through the mix with their extra volume and brightness—a welcome trait for any playing style and genre. A pair of 14" hi-hats, a 16" crash and 20" ride give you all the fundamentals a beginning drummer—or a seasoned pro looking for a budget-friendly, streamlined setup—will need to shine, whether practicing, rehearsing, jamming or performing in front of a captivated crowd.

Get Your Kicks With Robust Hardware
As any experienced drummer will attest, rock-solid, reliable hardware is often the unsung hero of the session or the show. Gig-ready double-braced hardware, like a steady snare stand and convertible boom cymbal stands with memory locks are a welcome addition to any drummer’s arsenal—and the BackBeat Elite provides these with easy setup and peace of mind. Speaking of easy setup, the rack toms are supported by a fully adjustable, swiveling mounting system via its double tom bracket with dual 10 mm L-arms—even the floor tom brackets let you swivel from side to side—and handy memory locks. And to really get the floor beneath you shaking, the included chain-drive bass drum pedal lets you kick with authority and intent.

Everything You Need for Your Beat
The Ludwig BackBeat Elite is an enticing kit for its full-frequency-spanning tonality, rugged road-worthy reliability and classic looks sparing no attention to detail—check out its matching wood bass drum hoops. Better yet, walk into your local Guitar Center, take a seat at the throne (sold separately) behind a BackBeat Elite kit and kick off your journey to great sound at an astounding value. Our expert associates and call center Gear Advisers will be happy to address all your drumming needs.

I love my new set of drums.
I play for myself for fun but I will be playing a one song sit-in at a local party gig in the summer. That is why I got the acoustic drums. I have a set of Alesis Crimson (also bought at the Guitar Center) but tried a acoustic set there to see the difference and fell in love with the acoustic drums.

I kind of regret buying it.
I bought this set for my son's birthday. There are no instructions in the box, nothing on the website and nothing on YouTube as to how to assemble this specific set. After looking at many different videos I pretty much figured out how to assemble them. But because there are no instructions I had to take some of it apart again to attach the brackets for the Tom's. Again, if there were instructions this would not have been a problem. There are things that were not assembled tightly and fell apart. Now I am trying to put the many pieces back together. I got it together but I have pieces left over and I have no idea what they are for or where they go, I'll attach a picture and maybe someone can tell me what they are for. This was a 5 hour nightmare. I'm a guitarist not a drummer.

It is a very good quality shell and it is at great value. the hardware is good and it is a great purchase to start with. You will want to get nicer cymbals asap and down the road replace the drum heads. Overall great kit!
