AMH90-CRF Demo by Ibanez Artist Kanako Yamamoto

Ibanez AMH90 Cherry Red Flat & Black

Description
This archtop guitar provides the tone and style of a traditional jazz box combined with contemporary updates for today's players. The AMH90 features a full hollow linden body and a 3-piece nyatoh/maple neck for rich, balanced resonance and smooth playability. The Macassar ebony fingerboard further enhances sustain and responsiveness, while medium frets lend precision to your fingering.
Super 58 Humbuckers Deliver Iconic Tone
The AMH90 is equipped with two Super 58 humbucking pickups, the preferred choice of acclaimed jazz guitarists like George Benson, Pat Metheny and John Scofield. These pickups provide a warm, articulate tone with excellent note definition—perfect for jazz, blues and rock. A 3-way toggle switch gives you access to neck, bridge and neck/bridge pickup combinations.
Tri-Sound Switch Expands Your Tonal Palette
For added tonal variety, the AMH90 includes an Ibanez Tri-sound switch. This switch taps into different coil configurations within the Super 58 humbuckers, enabling single-coil-like tones in addition to the standard humbucker sounds. From bright and cutting to full and warm, the Tri-sound switch puts a wide range of tones at your fingertips.
Gibraltar Performer Bridge Provides Rock-Solid Intonation
Keeping your AMH90 in tune is a Gibraltar Performer bridge with individual saddles for each string. This bridge offers excellent sustain and allows precise intonation adjustments for chords that ring true all the way up the fretboard. The bridge's low-profile design also enhances playing comfort. An artfully designed VT06 tailpiece provides an anchor point for the strings behind the bridge.
Premium Components and Construction
From its gold hardware and abalone block inlays to its arched top and f-holes, the AMH90 exhibits exceptional craftsmanship. A dark violin sunburst finish on a flame maple top creates a vintage esthetic, while a mahogany back, sides and center block reduce feedback at high volumes. From a visual and tonal perspective, the AMH90 embodies the classic archtop spirit.

This guitar checks ALL my boxes! My Gibson 335 is great, but I'll be favoring this AMH90-BLK due to tone, playability, comfort, and beauty. I perform jazz gigs.
This is a great guitar

This guitar is great on many dimensions. It is very lightweight. Clean tone is fantastic. The neck feels good. I had to adjust the action and intonation a bit but that was no problem. Highly recommended.

Waited a long time for this to become available: a true hollowbody with the bite of the alnico Super 58s, and the tritone switching options. Great on paper but.. neck just seemed "slow" not thin not beefy, almost felt as if the action was higher than it was. The sound is pleasant for a small jazzbox but just seemed too stiff and non responsive. Tritone did very little (unlike on a AS153). Maybe it was the poly satin or overall construction from a particular plant in China. Fit and finish was good, on the lighter sides but overall the sum was less than the total of the parts.
